All my cars get changed at 5k miles. The Porsche will never go more than a year regardless of mileage. For air filters I’ve switched to Sprint Race filters and will never go back to OEM. K&N are ok I guess, but I personally would go with a dry (oil free) filter. Every oil change goes to...
That’s awesome though! I know the cars are now coming in fairly regularly now, and a months wait?? Hell for that long you could camp out on their doorstep till its arrival! Best of luck with it and enjoy your new ride!!
Not certain about the remainder, but I have a vested interest in the market for P-cars. The GT4s actually have been gaining value where the GT4 RSs have been losing ground. Probably a function of them no longer being made. A quick search nationwide (dealers only) shows only 4 out of 27 cars...
The Ferrari I would wait for. Not sure if you mean the Gulfstream or the MB. The Gulfstream I would wait. The Mercedes is a waste of space. Watches are more of a see it and buy it experience for me. Don’t want to wait on something that may turn out to suck, simply to use as a collector piece. As...
Hold on to that Blackwing! That engines a monster and with the no lift shift, that tranny is smooth! The sound as well will NEVER be bested by the Emira. Go ahead and get in line for an Emira but add to your collection, don’t trade!
Last time I was in that dealership around two years ago, they had maybe 3 or 4 dozen open slots for i4s. Maybe they are thinking they will be arriving soon? Curious.
I keep going back to the fact that the U.S. does not have the support system and dealerships in place to maintain these cars. The need to travel hours each way to service your vehicle grows old real fast. While I still had an open allocation, I drove to the dealership and back to see how I would...
The car market has been crapping out for the last year to year and a half. Anybody with the intent to flip or recoup their losses would have seen this for some time, and known they were in a losing battle. They wouldn’t attempt to flip as they would guaranteed lose money. Which leaves other...
They appear to be firmly rooted in the Asian producers compound. Sandwiched in the likes of Japanese, South Korean and Chinese producers. I’m sure Geely wouldn’t have it any other way.
Don’t wait for it. His collection gives him plenty to pull content from. He’s not looking at Lotus as a cash cow that he’s gonna get clicks from. He fell victim to the hype up, and was let down and bored. Let’s face it, it’s an Evora in a fat suit…nothing more. I think it was a wise decision on...
I think he was expecting more given the hype from announcement. The whole rollout and distribution has gone over like a fart in a diving bell, and Im waiting to see the fallout in the U.S. when there is no dealership base to handle the issues.
What they charge and what they get are different animals. They could add all they want, but the days of ADMs are over and the worm has turned in the buyers favor. I’d worry more about reliability issues and the fact that people are already seeking Lemon Law resolution here in the states. Once...
Isn’t that the British way? The battery pack for the McClaren P1 uses cheap batteries off of Amazon, bundled and linked, sealed together and charge 20-30k to replace. Subpar parts quality throughout. Design is there. Implementation is not.
You won’t run your tread out in that trip. Cup2s last a bit unless you’re on track. My P Zero Corsas have a treadwear rating of 60!! That would wear out in a hurry!
Lotus appear to be $cumb@g$. This is the exact route with me, except the date and the state. Only difference… I told em go scratch. I feel for all that got/are getting screwed. The rollout in the U.S. is going on now, and they are nailing their own coffin shut. Nice looking car. Issues to fix...
I test drove to the nearest dealership prior to making a decision. Travel time was two hours each way. Given that you’re (probably) not going to wait for service to be done, that now makes two days that need to be allocated for any service to be done. This coupled with the issues that (some)...
I do. Solid as the day I received it. That’s why for all the knocking of Porsches that Lotus folk seem to embrace, that is one car that is an occasion every time it’s driven. And has never had a single hiccup. As far as daily driving goes, my Miata sees all four seasons and rips the countryside...
Regrettably, this is what I had been forecasting for the U.S. for some time. No follow up in place for these issues, no parts and owners already talking lemon law. Not the start for Lotus US distribution that they needed. I was lucky enough to tell them go scratch, when after waiting a year and...
The STEK works well. I had it installed on my GT4 three years ago, and it’s saved the glass on numerous occasions. I haven’t heard about the need to replace it every year though, and will definitely inquire. I have heard that some are reluctant to install it, but for what reason I don’t know...
Why wouldn’t they have researched this over the months/years that others have reported this for, and dealers in the states have been waiting?? Maybe they were too busy!!! Not a new issue.
Easy choice for me, with a locally (to me) bred race car company. I’ll take a road ready Glickenhaus SCG 004CS. Awesome people, awesome company and a Mike Drop of a car.
So I’m curious….if the Emiras arrived in the U.S. and are awaiting CARB, is LOTUS going to send cargo ships full of parts as well to have available here when the $hit hits the fan? Or will they only be supplying (with lengthy wait times) as the issues get reported? Gonna have to watch this...
They’ve actually retreated a bit. Overall they’re up in value I believe around 7 percent from last year. You can find some models, depending on what you’re looking for, which are selling under what you consider new MSRP. Incredible visceral experience and fit and finish!
Ah yes. Don’t know what Porsche would charge for ye ole Lotus Design Pack (WTF) or a Lotus Drivers Pack (?). Honestly, if you remove ALL Those items from the FE or FE 2.0 and make it optioned on the, dare I say FE Base edition (how many first editions can you possibly make), that would be one...
And at a “Base” price that they currently say will be starting at what? To me, if this is cost savings of say $20k, I would consider that base iteration as a hard pass! For the price you will still be paying, those items should be standard fare. Hence my thought that this will turn people away...
