While I agree with this statement, Lotus is not unique in these global market conditions, and other manufacturers, like Porsche, haven’t wavered in the same way that Lotus has.
A horrible customer experience, limited dealer network, and quality/reliability concerns coupled with everything you...
Thanks @Dragoon for this video. You’ve given me some confidence to (maybe) try this myself and the third cat delete at the same time. I have only ramps, so appreciate any feedback if anyone thinks this could be done successfully without a lift.
Also, anyone confirm if the magnetic drain plug...
For what it’s worth, I’m probably going to 714Technik based on @99Problems feedback. They are further away for me than some of the other shops @Jump_Ace mentioned, but I’m glad they have already worked on an Emira.
Funny, I thought the same thing at first. Those marks are so small and tight that it must have been someone doing doughnuts in a kids ride on power wheels 😂
Keep on raising prices, Lotus! While you’re at it, only produce a small amount of cars so they don’t flood the market. Then in about a year, discontinue the Emira entirely. Boom, guaranteed future classic!
I think it depends on the film too. I had Stek installed instead of Xpel because I was told it was easier to shape and optically better. As a result, my vents were removed and the film folded in with no seams / relief cuts. This was a few months ago, and still no signs of the film lifting.
The blistering is caused from trapped moisture inside the door and not because of water sitting on the exterior of the paint. Washing definitely will allow water to enter the door and get trapped, and you can see this when you open your door and water comes pouring out the lower front door...
Nice video. They need to update the infographic in the conclusion section. Todd's review says "3rd" for the Emira when it's actually "1st." He had already awarded 3rd place to the Ferrari.
There’s a difference between Toyota no longer offering the V6 in the Camry, and discontinuing the engine entirely. I think folks are mistakenly connecting the two.
I'm even questioning why you need more than just the third cat delete. Can't you accomplish the same sounds with tour/sport/track mode - is there some benefit to the valve controller besides increased customization in the different modes?
Can't speak to the prices in the UK (it's $850 USD), and you might not have driving habits like mine, but if it saves me from one speeding ticket, it pays for itself.
There are definitely more affordable options out there for those that don't mind a dual radar/camera setup.
Sounds like you've got some good options. One additional consideration is the Maxcam 360. I hardwired mine into the rearview mirror for power supply reasons (thanks @silent cilantro and @kitkat) - the usb plug isn't enough juice - and I've been very happy with the combo radar detector and...
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Both cars came out around the same time, so not sure who was first, but I also think most mid-engined cars have similar profiles.
I'd be ok if that small HP bump came from updated software that added another 500 RPM to the redline. Then we could just copy that same code to our ECU. One can dream, right?
Hi, bumping this thread. Anyone happy with their local Portland Oregon shop for an oil change? Ideally on the south side of town, but I would drive for the right service. I also plan to do a 3rd cat delete at the same time, so any feedback would be appreciated.
Yeah, but it represents a 10% savings over new. That’s like receiving $20/mile driven. And I’m sure you could negotiate beyond their asking price.
480 miles on an engine that should easily go over 100k without much of an issue doesn’t seem like a big deal. See if they’ll add a couple years...
Dealership said this sound is an intentional feature to remind you that owning a Lotus is a lot like owning a ticking time bomb.
I think that checks out. 👍😆
🤔 I had the same thought when I saw this post. Would the shifter boot also come off cleanly if cut open?
Let us know how it turns out if you go this route.
I think you're right about a more powerful version coming. But for me, no matter what the power increase is, there is one thing that would prevent me from being an interested buyer: the absence of a 6 speed manual.
And lets face it, whatever configuration they come up with will probably not be...
Ironically, this same message appeared on my Mazda Cx-90 (but not my Emira). The solution? Disconnect the battery for an hour and see if it fixes the error. It did.
These new cars are too complicated. :ROFLMAO:
No one can say for sure, but I imagine a person that is considering a First Edition Emira in 2045 will be interested in the nostalgia and analog driving experience - the manual transmission is a big part of this. I could see someone in the future learning to drive a manual just for the cool...
