This. Anytime I travel any significant distance I make sure I have a repair kit (plug type, obviously) and inflator. It works great for the occasional screw or nail. Very easy to repair as well and it will give you time to figure out if you need an all new tire or the patch will suffice.
I had the exact same issue after a few drives. The end on the foam piece just did not stick like it should. A very small piece of 3m automotive tape fixed the issue.
When you put the quickjacks sideways, where you on the front jacking pads or on the frame rail itself? In the past I have used my quickjacks sideways on other cars with no issue, but with my Emira, my quickjacks are too long to fit in between the front tires in order to get to the front jacking...
Thanks for posting this. I installed the Milltek controller a few weeks ago and programmed it according to Milltek (which as stated above is wrong). After reading this I did some testing and 1 is open, 2 is OEM, and 3 is closed (at least on my unit).
I started the car, and in tour mode button...
Agreed. I switched out to EBD red stuff primarily to cut down on the brake dust. Feel is about the same with normal driving. No plans right now to track, but if that changes I will most likely drop the stock pads back in to use up and then switch out to a more aggressive track pad. Would...
Spent a bit of time yesterday installing EBC Red Stuff brake pads. Big thanks to @kitkat for sharing his experience changing out the pads.
Took my time and removed the reservoir cap to ensure I could fully retract the calipers to fit the new brake pads in. The rear pads were very easy, they...
Just a quick update, as I have been monitoring the fuel rail pressure prior to unlocking or opening the car after it has been sitting. The short of it is that there is no rhyme or reason. I just went out of town for a week and upon returning, the fuel rail pressure was in the high 40's and the...
I have had the cold start issue happen twice to me. The first time I have no idea what the conditions were and everything was fine after I turned the car off and then restarted. Yesterday, I jumped in the car, put the car into neutral (not using the clutch) placed my foot on the brake, and...
Are you referring to the shift boot only? I had one made to match my interior (alcantara with yellow stitch). Not sure if that is the only piece you need. Question I also have, is if it is only the gaiter(shift boot) did the original fail?
I went out and checked; the "european" spec cap fits. This was the first time I had opened up the front hatch and I was looking for an excuse to do so. Also gives me a chance to get in and clean it up a bit.
This is the link I used years ago to purchase the adapter: https://a.co/d/hPL5HG6
Wow, happy I could start that conversation when I was really just trying to show how much I liked my new gaiter....(LOL).
But, going to go to @GRP now and pick up the valve controller. Thanks for the conversation!
Got around to installing the matching gaiter, alcantara with yellow stitching. Big thanks to @Jimblob for the contact at Hide and Seam and the install tips. Turned out great and I like the way it looks.
I also dropped in the K&N air filter. I have not done the valve controller or 3rd cat...
It is OBD fusion. I did a quick overview on another thread; https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-emira-today.4043/post-145678
OBD fusion added carplay functionality earlier this year. Has some good data points if you like to geek out. Still playing with the screen...
I was curious and it is a Friday.... Went out and sure enough, it is the ambient air temp sensor. Turned the car on and it was sitting at 95 degrees. Placed a bag of ice on the sensor and it immediately started coming down in temp. Attached are some images.
Thanks @GRP for the testing! Was not sure which filter I was going to go with but just dropped the K&N in the cart along with the license plate bracket kit. Really surprised at the gain from just the air filter. Thanks again!
Thanks for the update. I am thinking when I do the break in oil change of using the Archoil 9100, along with AMSOIL Sig Series 0W-40. Did you use just under half the 16oz bottle for the oil change? Will be interesting how the oil analysis looks down the road, not sure if you are planning on...
On previous cars, I had used the torque app for android and thought it did a great job of providing data that was not available via the screens in the car. For those that might not have used torque, it is an app that lets you see and then create custom gauges on your device to see data in real...
I guess I can thank you @ameeriklane, I did the same with the same dealer but picked up a few weeks after you. Did not pay MD sales tax through the dealer, will go to MD MVA to register and pay taxes on the sale. Figuring that your experience probably made mine a bit smoother. Thanks!
After looking through some of the previous pics I wanted to see what drain holes were on my Emira. My Emira was an April 24' build. In the first pic i have the drain hole all the way towards the front of the door. I have noticed water dripping from that area after a wash (guess that means it...
Hi @Martylemoo,
Sent you a DM, if you are still able to send out the workshop manual, please count me in. Just let me know how to send payment.
Thanks!
I took delivery about 10 days ago and it is a blast to drive! What is your spec on the Zinc Grey? The photos I see that have the black pack and black wheels look sharp.
I use the the carfax app to track my maintenance. When you choose DIY, it does not go on the public record but it is all in one place on the app to easily find. In the app, I upload the receipts for the purchases as well for proof. I also send all my oil samples to blackstone for analysis...
First off, thanks for all of the great info on this thread, especially @scc.131.fe for sharing pics of his quickjack setup.
I received my Emira Saturday so of course I would throw it on my quickjacks on Sunday to remove the wheels and can ceramic coat the brake calipers and wheels.
I have a...
