@Kaz - I've reached out to a few people to request some further information on this subject. I'll revert back once I get a response.
What I've requested is from where this sound is generated and is it possible to interrupt a signal / wire to stop it, or is it a coding / programming resolution only.
Hi @John_Matrix
The below is what Lotus sent to me as I was told by my Dealer that extending the warranty after 3 years would not cover the bodywork & paint.
The dealer also said this is an inherent issue from previous models and was raised as a concern at the time of building, but upper...
My Emira was FULLY PPF'd, always garaged, never used in the wet or winter (ok, I was caught in one or two showers)...I also had the official indoor cover, but only used it once..
The car was an early 2022 model & it took 18 months for the blistering to appear - FYI it was a very hot & sunny day...
Hi docron,
The Hertz Mille ML 1650.3 speakers I used are 3.15 in. (80mm) depth, which easily cleared the window - see below snip direct from Hertz Audio website.
What speakers are you wanting to install?
@Sjobing - This sounds very interesting and we'd all be keen to know how your install turns out. If I can be of any assistance then please feel free to reach out (y).
Also, thank you for the links, I'll take a look at both when time permits.
Just out of curiosity, did you remove the OEM amps...
Hi Kaz,
Luckily I had all these pictures from a previous request - please see the attached.
Hopefully this is the info you're seeking

Hi @Sjobing,
Good question - Unfortunately with modern cars it is just not as simple as removing a module / control unit / amp as this will log faults - all modules communicate with each other in one way or another.
Also, it is not 100% what else these amp modules serve, for example, all the...
Hi John,
I just installed to my own car and engineered the speaker & amp mounts, although I've worked on cars most of my career.
I can highly recommend an installer in the South-East (Maidstone area) if you're local?
Sorry Kaz, I forgot to answer this..
No, I didn't feel it necessary to remove the seats and do the floors, or do the wheel wells, it's quiet enough for me personally. Although, there are some that have as we all have different noise tolerant levels ;).
@Hell4Leather & @Subw00er - Here's the thread from May/June 2024 with others experiencing the same:-

Hi @Lotusdoesit,
The link you've posted is for the subwoofer I've installed, yes, this has its own amp built in amp too.
However, the main amp I suggest for the car is an Audison AF M8.14 Bit (so you'd need both ;)) :-
https://audison.com/product/af-m8-14-bit/
100% its the OEM subwoofer - This will only happen when opening the drivers door as the infotainment screen / system comes alive, you won't hear the "pop" when opening the passenger door - try it ;).
I've fully upgraded the sound system in my Emira and therefore do not experience this sound...
No problem Kaz, I just like to be honest and up front - and thank you for your kind words.
As for sound deadening - With all the rear compartment trim removed I installed sound deadening to whole of this area (see attached pics). Then acoustic foam over the top in the rear quarters where the...
@Nova 's reply - This is sound info & advice.
@Kaz - My 2 cents worth:- As you'd need to strip the Rear interior out to access the OEM sub, amps and wiring etc you are 70% of the way there - You'd also have full access to the rear speakers by this point...
I don't want to sound brutal, but...
Not a problem, & thank you for your feedback.
It's worth mentioning that with the kit we provide a wiring color code document. This has all the details you'll need to complete the install, (all speaker wire colors, and from which of the two OEM Amps they are fed from), therefore saving hours of...
Hi MPD,
Sorry for the late reply….
Honestly, I don’t believe the OEM Amps would be powerful enough to run larger speakers & produce the end result you seek - those amps just about run the factory system.
The OEM Sub quality was a real issue for me, just substandard and a poor design.
Some...
Hi There,
If you haven't already, take a look through this Thread also. There are plenty of pictures and info here: -

Hi There,
I used "Skinz" sound deadening, then stuck acoustic foam over the top.
Skinz has an adhesive backing that requires heating up to stick. It comes in easy to handle & cut square pieces. I used 1 & 1/2 boxes - each box cost 100 GBP.
Yes, this will add some weight, around 10-12kgs, if you...
