Same email putting back from June to July :(. Annoying as I didn’t change spec after they locked in my build without letting me know, as they said it would go back to July for any changes.
Cancelled my order now, as finding the whole buying process disappointing. just not feeling the love...
Lol re fiat. Here in the UK the market is crazy at the moment for used cars. Managed to sell the missus’s Mini JCW to trade after 3 years use, 20k miles put on it, 3 panels needed painting and no service for last 2 years for same price we bought it from dealers those 3 years ago. Madness...
I’ve bought 80+ cars to date, a fair portion new. Lotus have been by far the worst customer experience i have encountered for new cars :( Just recently bought the missus a new Fiat 500.. Puts lotus to shame
Srill love the cars though, but prefer Lotus dealer experience for 2nd hand cars.
Having owned a few Exiges and Evoras , only the latter will be similar to the Emira. Exige is much rawer than Evora, but in reality for road use with state of our roads the Evora was a more capable road car. My Sports 380 Exige was often airborne on Cotswolds roads
Fully get where you are coming from. I have been customer facing for last 20 years and have found the lotus buying process woeful. Im actually debating just cancelling my june delivery V6 FE as not enjoying the experience.
Anyway, as per your suggestion I had also decided if I didn’t have...
Also owned one of the first PE’s when they came out. Wonderful car to drive and always said at the time it would be my perfect car if it had Lotus looks.
Well let’s put it this way, after owning 3 911‘s including GT3, I chose an Evora twice over the equivalent Cayman S at the time, due to the smile factor of the Lotus :)
After seeing the improved renders the start of this week with the release of the new configurator , I wanted to make some changes to my config .
I have been told any changes will put me back from June to July date . I questioned the reasons for this and just received following email
“The...
Drove a friends Noble 3R and it’s up there with Lotus re handling, steering etc. great cars. Although like others the looks of the 500 don’t work for me.
Snap from our Alps trip where I took the Exige at the time
Ok to close this down, I’m a Brit, here’s a Spitting Image puppet of the queen that we have all laughed at here, so we’re all good now.
Now back to the Emira. Do love any shots of cars in the flesh. Keep them coming.
More like, how does the Camera interpret and process the colours. You can see why it’s a nightmare getting a true feeling for colours from joe public.
Its why it’s so important Lotus get professional photos of the 6 colours in different light conditions, to allow buyers to make a considered...
The least space I’ve ever experienced in a cockpit, was at the BAC MOno launch …ok plenty of headspace ;) When sat in the car, you”re arms and shoulders are basically touching the sides …you are at one with the car. Loved it :)
Assuming it has exactly same exhaust as the Evora 400 I had, I can honestly say you didn’t want it any louder. it’s obscenely loud when “on it” and exhaust will be fully open past circa 4k revs, so no way around it.
With same exhaust on my Exige 380 I got pulled by the police who heard me...
From magma red disc indoors, out in the sun and placed on Fire Red Exige , where it was a very close match, then I would say photos such as they represent pretty well the colour you will end up with .
Notice the difference in overcast conditions vs sunlight where it pops
For colours such as red which we know are very close to Fire Red, then best to just Google “fire red Evora” and get a feel for the variations of colour on the photos displayed. As stated , you’ll never be sure until you see a car in the flesh, but best compromise in the meantime.
Auto . Enjoyed the manuals in 4 different V6 Lotus cars, but also enjoyed the Evora 400 auto greatly. Great summary by @TomE above.
You can’t go wrong with either (y)
Get a feeling they are trying to avoid sharing this until V6 FE buyers are tied in. Flip side is you may get a lot of disgruntled owners once released.
We know Lotus has the info to hand as they have released price for i4 base, and FE V6. They know how much the extra cost for base V6 to FE...
