Hey Rupes, if you are also planning on doing a 3rd cat delete, def. the kind of shop that you can trust to do that kind of work. Let us know how you get on with it.
I can recommend 714Technik: https://www.714technikpdx.com/
Mike (the shop owner) did my 'break in' oil change. I bring the wife's Macan S to them as well. They also do a lot of performance tuning on other high end cars. They are on the NE side, but easy to get to.
For those in the PDX area wondering about oil change service, etc. I'd posted some shops that I was going to check into for my 1000 break in Oil change. Settled on this shop in the NE... https://www.714technikpdx.com/
Mike, the owner and lead tech, is a super skilled and passionate guy...
I bought a K&N but haven't had it installed yet, was planning on doing that at 1000 miles along with an oil change... I'd not heard of these causing issues in the past, although I've never bothered with doing it in any of my previous cars so I hadn't really looked into it. Having read this...
So if we have the lotus trickle charger, it should have similar permanent connectors and the Adapter you mention is all you'd need? Haven't even opened the box yet, since its still nice weather and I'm driving the car every few days.
Also went with the Raceseng knob... Nicely weighted, really feels nice in the hand, and I think looks nicer than the OEM knob (also without that hole in the front!)
I'll spare everyone the details on my car's damage from either Port/Transport/Dealer, but as it gets sorted, I'm hoping to have the car end of this week. @Pdxem1ra, how was King's Cross?
Yup. Mine was on that boat. Got to Bellevue 6/28. Still don’t have the car though, dealer found several scratches in the deck lid. Now waiting for Lotus to approve them trying to polish them out. GD nightmare of an order process at this point.
Yeah, I'm gonna skip it, and see how many issues I may (or may not) have in the first 2 years.
Not financing it so can't ask a credit union, but that's good advice for someone who may be in a similar boat...
no, its Fidelity Platinum, which appears to be through dealers only, and mimics our "bumper to bumper", no wear items, etc...
Seems I'd be better off deciding to buy an extended warranty maybe closer to the 3 years running out from a 3rd party?
Well... I'm 12 days away from hitting the 3 year mark, but my car is FINALLY at the dealership! Which brings up the question of extended warranty... Dealer is offering one, but it runs CONCURRENTLY with the factory warranty... So a 5 year extended warranty is actually only cover the car 2 years...
Anyone on here with a car that was on the 4/6 boat that still doesn't have the car even at the dealership?
That's the unfortunate "boat" I'm in. Challenged my dealer to ask Lotus WTF, since cars on 5/13 boats are showing up to dealerships on the west coast... so the Lotus logistics excuse has...
Yeah, this last stretch has been brutal... knowing it's in Baltimore for going on 2 months... The only way I can imagine that fewer minor issues are occurring is if Lotus PDI is proactive now with parts on hand. Somehow I doubt that.
I am sure i'll love the car once its here, but this whole...
Mine was on the same boat, and I'm IN the same boat.... all puns fully intended.
Its ridiculous, sad... maddening. I can't yell at my dealer, they have zero say in it... its Lotus being a totally incompetent company with zero idea of how to run logistics. For years they were delivering a few...
PPF sections will have the self healing ability from proper heat to remove scratches for a couple years, so easy to remove any marks that got in there from washes, etc. Ceramic coated areas without PPF, you have to be a bit more delicate. On cars where I have partial PPF, inevitably, the...
I'm going full body, in part because I don't want to have to treat different parts of the car differently based on if there is PPF vs. just Ceramic coating. The rocker panels will for sure get a lot of hits, so if you do option 1, I'd consider at least getting those covered.
As for product...
Thanks for that link UBot... reviews look good.
For those on the south side of the river, I'm going to reach out to a few to see how much experience they have with Lotus/Evora's in the past... a couple look promising from the reviews. I'll leave them here if anyone else wants to skip a couple...
DM me who your sales person is. I'm also at that dealership, also with an FE 1, on the 4/6 boat in my case. My salesperson has responded when I email... usually a day later timing wise. If you want to be referred to him, I can give you the name in DM
Day 1013 here... but I see light at the end of the tunnel... No call yet from Park Place, but being a part of the 4/6 ship batch, I suspect I'll hear something early next week about it being on the truck in route...
For those PNW'ers in the Portland area, any local perf. shops you plan to use for getting regular oil changes, etc? Obviously any warranty work would mean going back to Park Place Lotus, but I'm thinking for regular maintenance stuff...
Their full PPF is $6900 using Xpel. They say the "new" Xpel they are using is much better about orange peel and clarity. I had Xpel on my last 911 GTS, and I wasn't a fan of it. I'm a big fan of STEK's dynoshield for better clarity, and better built in ceramic coating. If you are willing to...
Happy to see someone getting that call. I'm an FE 1.0 depositor that was in 10 days before you at Bellevue... but there is no order to how the cars are coming in seems like... though its encouraging to see that timeline... My car was on the 4/6 boat... so MAYBE I get a call saying its coming...
Holy Sh*t…. The one to land on 3/29 skips my VIN…. 5 before, 3 after it…
But I’m seeing it on the 4/7 list 😁
I’ve got a road trip that is planned to start 4/29…. But was planning on having my PPF installer fully wrap the car…. I don’t imagine the car will get from Port to Bellevue in 14-ish days….
I got a response using the WhatsApp conversation that was started as part of the order (although it took a couple days in between responses). I was in the 2nd group buy, was told mine would be going out on Weds...
It is more money, but its also a lot more car (in terms of power, fit and finish, and dealership/brand support). The last Aston Vantage S I had was great, and dealing with Aston via the Dealer (and directly at events) was great.
Yup same dealership, same order time (give or take a day), and same situation. I know I'm screaming into the void, but this falls onto Lotus' shoulders. The total lack of proper communication, lack of ability or willingness to tell dealers/buyers where the car is in the process, lack of...
1495 for F*x sake... we are all waiting on the latest boat manifest I take it?
Us CARB state FE 1.0's that have had deposits since early July 2021 are in a bad place... Happy for my fellow Emira enthusiasts that have now got their car, yet jealous/frustrated that I can't get ANY information on...
