Hi, I saw this online when I was looking for parts for my i4. I thought they came with Blow Off valves already. Are there any benefits to a Blow Off Valve, does it make the turbos sound better? If anyone has installed one can we hear what it sounds like and how the install was pls? Thank you.

Never used this product but years ago when I modded my Mr2 Turbo, I installed the HKS SSQV (the infamous high pitch whistle). It makes your car run rich which may throw a code. Your best bet is to install an intake to get a larger funnel sound.

I believe most factory turbo engines use a diverter valve which diverts excess pressure from the turbo (not really sure what the purpose is). I know the VW 2.0 engines use them and their line of 2.0 turbo engines have after market blow off valve pieces like the one from VW

The difference between a diverter valve and a blow off valve.

Blow off valve vents the extra pressure back to atmosphere.

Diverter Valve plumbs the vented air to the air intake before the turbocharger. This is essential for cars using specific types of metering/air measurement. Otherwise the engine is doing a fuel calculation which is assuming there is more available air than there really is. (Or really that the density of the boosted air is higher than it really is)
