Center Armrest Issue

Quick Q....

I live a few hours from my Lotus dealership, thus seeing if this can be fixed on own, saving the several hour drive to the dealership.

The flat black plastic part that you lift up on to open the center armrest cover, broke off at its base.

If I obtained the part, I am not sure how hard the install would be nor the steps involved.

Boardwalk is sending me another part. Can anyone point me in the right direction on the steps involved installing the top portion of the armrest?

Alway apply a bit of downward pressure on the armrest before pushing in on the latch then lift up.

It's very fragile. It will snap if you force it. Wiz33 advice sounds good.

I have worried about this piece since I got the car—way too much flexure for plastic.
