It’s clear the guy is simply fishing for information. Regardless of how we may feel about flippers, deep down we are interested in what the demand is going to be.

I always have contingency plans for every large decision I make in life, whether detailed or high level, and knowing how much I can offload this “decision” is valuable info should then need arise. This guy is simply trying to see that baseline…

That may be, but it's also a legal offer of sale, backed by nothing. In most jurisdictions you'd call that fraud.
