Emira Car Covers

Bought one today at Hethel. Not had it out of the bag yet but will try it and let you know.
what are the odds you could upload an image of this car cover ? Or anyone else who has that indoor cover. Is it the same supplier as in the site ? I want to place an order and I just want to make sure it looks the same as in the images. Thanks 🙏🏽

Attached a few photos but they are not fitted on the car. Mine is dirty and heading for PPF soon so I don’t want to put a new cover onto dirty paintwork now. Hopefully other ops who have bought one can comment on fit.

What I can tell you is it looks and feels high quality. I have a couple of Specialised Car Covers that I rate highly and the Lotus one is heavier and feels similarly high quality.

It comes in a nice bag with a shoulder strap.

Lotus badge and Emira logo on nose. And Lotus on the back. All in yellow on black cover.

Outside is tighter weave. Inside soft and a bit fluffy. Just the business.

Unusually (for an indoor cover) it also comes with two adjustable straps and attachments on the cover itself. These are in pockets to avoid the buckle damaging the paint but I would prefer not to have them and will never use a strap for an indoor cover !

Once car clean and detailed I will post photos of the fit of others have not done before.

Thanks for the detail overview it looks and sound really top quality! I’ll put an order in now

Washed my Emira yesterday and this morning it’s covered in sandpaper like fine dust, likely it’s pollen. I have PPF front and ceramic all over. But not having a garage I really need to get an outdoor cover. Has anyone actually got an outdoor cover? The only picture I’ve seen of the official one looks terrible.

I have one and it's not great. It's so tight across the side mirrors that they don't fit into the mirror pockets.

does it help to have the mirrors folded in? Seems pointless to pay £500 for the official cover if the fitting is not that great.

Mirrors folded in is the only way to get it on - but it looks very wrong like this.

I have indoor covers for all my Lotus and always use a company called SpecialisedCarCovers. I have been very pleased. They have templates for all sorts of cars. When they made the cover for my Elise S160 they had a template for a 111s and I sent them photos of the higher rear spoiler so they could make sure the cover they made for me would fit. I have never had them make an external cover for me so can’t comment on those.
However I just looked on their website at external covers to see this caveat…
“Please note all out door covers are patterened and designed with the wing mirrors out in the open position. Due to the nature of the outdoor material the covers will not fit when the car is locked and the mirrors are retracted. If the cover needs to fit over retracted mirrors please call our sales team to discuss as this may require a new pattern or enlarged wing mirror pockets.”
I also see they don’t list Emira on their web site at this point so maybe no one has asked them for one yet.
I don’t know who makes the Lotus official ones but maybe they need some feedback on the fit size. Can’t be hard to make them marginally larger.

I'm sure the outdoor one I have from Lotus ones is made by SpecialisedCarCovers.
I did manage to get the cover on the car with the mirrors in the out position once. It required a lot of effort, and I dislocated a mirror taking it off. Fortunately the mirror did not break, but it stopped me from trying to do it again.

It might be worth giving them a call directly. I am sure they would not be happy to know that their cover doesn’t fit well.
Maybe they can modify the mirror pockets for you?

btw. Wing mirrors in when parking is a setting that can be changed in the settings menu.

I originally bought the outdoor one , I understand that they changed supplier and the quality is not great, reminded me of BBQ and seat cover material you get from an outdoor furniture centre. I ended up swapping it with the indoor cover which is a good quality item

Do you use the indoor cover outside?

Agree with all that has been said about the outdoor cover. Very fiddly to get the mirrors into the pockets, and need to be careful if PPF'd. Here is a picture of mine on the car. First time on so a little creased!!

Thanks for the pic. Would you have bought the cover knowing how difficult it is to use? Bit nervous about your PPF comment, are you saying this because you could catch a PPF edge and pull it up as you fit the cover?

Hi - I have had the mirrors included in the PPF package and so far no problems. The car is back with the PPF company tomorrow for a PPF check up. I am just very careful putting the cover on the mirror pocket area as it is a tight fit and not best designed. I could have the cover on over the mirrors without using the pockets - just looks a little strange! Otherwise the cover is fine - waterproof with soft inside lining. Hope this helps

thanks, I think I'll order one. Just the thought of having her out there in a hailstorm 😖

I cancelled my TLF order and bought one at Hethel too, 10% off when I did a day at LDA. Haven't used it yet though.
