Emira Car Show

I'm thinking of organising an Emira 'car show'. The thought process started by thinking how I could get to see all the colours in the flesh. With all different wheels and BP etc.
Then I thought everyone who has still yet to lock in would also love this ability.
So I thought I'd gauge interest from all those who are taking delivery in June and July to see how many would be happy to have a group gathering near end of July?
This would be in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. It's a lovely town. Great if your local. But also worth a day/weekend trip here and to Henley-on-Thames if your not.
Would be a fantastic opportunity to see all the different options and meet some of you wonderful helpful people on here.

Exactly you don't employ and train people to do nothing they haven't got the parts to build the cars they've had on order for nearly a year now. Sorry but l've heard the ramp up and catch up stuff before what happened to building loads of cars in May and June because it was type approval holding the process up??? And they would deliver more cars in July to catch up? Now it's only possible to build 10 cars a day?

Matt stop lying to us we all know what's going on in the world most people will take the delay but I hate being lied to.

Last December the biggest risk to timelines was type approval, which is why they had a plan to work around it and build cars in advance. What happened after that was Omicron, a further Covid outbreak in Asia and Russia invading Ukraine. So the plan to get around type approval worked, but the supply chain issues got considerably worse.

If you've got a factory that can build 25-30 cars a day but parts supply for only 10 a day of specific versions then you have to go slower and delay some people.

They can still do some pre-building, such as chassis and sub-assemblies that are built in-house by Lotus.

Is there any feedback on what parts are causing the delay? If chips etc then I would have thought all cars affected the same as all are identical.

I recall Lotus saying that they had a lot of chips a long time ago up front and, when we spoke with them then, they had no fears.
Hopefully 100s can get built but later cars are likely impacted.
Therefore, my guess is that is something else.

well we know from what Matt said, there are issues around the Auto, which could be one of many components, but as someone said yesterday, they are building cars, HOWEVER, the one and only spanish dealer has stated he does not think he is getting his demo cars until september, which is strange with all the LHD cars we have seen around...
but well, the next 7-10 days will tell us more, as usual ;)

I don’t know specifics. Previously there have been problems with wheels and that may be continuing but I’m not sure if that’s affecting all 3 versions equally. The situation as seen on factory tours will change week by week.

The biggest delay seems to be auto gearboxes, which originate from Aisin but come to Lotus from Toyota.

Black tailpipe finishers were a problem a few weeks ago but I think are sorted now.

Dark Verdant paint seems to be in short supply, as we’ve only seen one or two cars in DV (joke!).

They’ve delayed those of us with autos because they’re planning on giving them 500bhp and lowering them 10cm. Suck on that 😛
That only applies to all Shadow Grey cars, irrespective of transmission choice.

It's the extra time it takes to stitch that contrast stitching and TDC marker on the auto steering wheel that's delaying them, not the actual gearbox ;)
