Emira colours - seeing cars at Hethel

Yes, precisely that. @PaulP provided more details. I’ve done it a few times with German marques which was wonderful. With BMW, you can extend the insurance but they cover it for 2 weeks, $0 deductible, and takes care of all paperwork needed to ship car back to your local dealership in the US. All one needs to do is to drop the car off at any of the many spots across Europe.

I have never been to Scotland or Ireland and would love to collect the car in Hethel and drive it around the UK for a few weeks. It’s like bonding time between parents and child. 😝
I can put you in touch with someone at Hethel if you want to take it further to see if it's feasible. Drop me a message and we can discuss.

Just for kicks, would you mind PSing the first picture with black seats please?
Here ya go. BTW, these aren't photoshop, they're actual renders from a 3D model.

I’m not a red car guy but damn that’s a nice color and TomE’s description, after seeing it in person, is making me seriously rethink my current spec.

That's close, based on viewing it from that perceived distance and the limitations of a render. In that outdoor sunlit setting some of the directly-lit surfaces would have more metallic lustre and the flake would be slightly more visible as granules. But the colours is good.
It's interesting. When I increased the flake density and strength, it added a slight amount of richness to the whole car. How's this, closer? Too dark? Too metallic?

its 9am and I've only checked the configurator 4 times so far, I think within the bounds of sanity

That's gone a bit too dark now.

The new configurator is very very close, doesn't quite show the metallic fleck but the overall effect at the perceived viewing distance is good:

It really looks very close to @Eagle7 renders

I´m not going back.
Have decided that if I get bored with the black wheels, calipers, then I'll repaint
And with the black pack or the actual color, ppf if necessary.

My biggest problem right now is I cannot stop playing the Video. after going through all colors and all combinations of BP/NON BP, Calipers, and rims. This is insane!

And (fingers crossed) so far the configurator is coping with all of us plus everyone on the Facebook groups and all the other Lotus forums playing with it. Let's see how it copes as the UK goes to lunch break and the US wakes up!

I'm not helping: I've got the video on continuous loop on my second screen :)

So, is nimbus now accurate on the new configurator?

Yes, all the colours are very good, as good as you're able to get in a render. People were asking for photos of real cars and I actually think the new configurator is more useful to convey the variations with lighting and viewing angle.

I have 2 videos looping side by side with different calipers just to triple check my choice!

My wife caught me watching the video again ... "haven't you got work to do?"

"Look at this cool thing, I can change the colour mid-video"

"Oh wow, wouldn't that be great in real life...."

@TomE I'm not convinced you exist. You have (apparently): a day job, a family, work (incognito) for Lotus and post (often) on multiple forms and Facebook. By 'the laws of physics' you do not have enough time in the day. Come on, be honest, you're a Google AI with a love of cars

Damn these renders and videos make the car look good in all the colours. Made my job even harder to decide now lol. Good job Lotus (y)
