Emira on track at Bathurst

I heard from someone who drove it at Bathers that it turns in amazingly. Far superior to the Evora.

Also heard that the Matt said it's lapping Hethel as fast as exige 420.
Emira has a significantly wider track than the Evora so this will help with turn-in. Plus all the advancements they have made in suspension and braking will all add up to create a superior handling car around the twisties.

The maths just don't add up - perhaps if its 1.27 or less I would be very happy.

I was just looking at the Exige 410 (only one I found) times on fastest laps:

The Exige 410 did Hockenheimring (home circuit of Sport Auto magazine) in 1:57.30

It's just to get an idea where the competitors are. So It might end up beeing very close to the 718 Cayman GTS (with Pirelli P Zero N1 / 235/35 R20 / 265/35 R20) or even better because of better chassis / suspension and tyres / tyre dimensions.

Porsche Cayman GT4 (718)Christian Gebhardt1:53.90420 / 1452

BMW M2 CS (F87)
Uwe Sener1:55.80450 / 1584

It will be very interesting to see where the Emira will be in this list.

The GTS is closer to putting down advertised hp to the wheel, and given similar weights I’d imagine it’s actually a bit slower than that.

They’ll be targeting the Cayman GTS 4.0 as the direct competitor for the V6

Look at the difference in body roll and how flat and planted the Emira is. It looks a lot more like a track car out there than a street car on the track. The extra downforce the body design provides has to give it an advantage in the higher speed corners. This is going to be a great track car.

This might start to quickly narrow down what actually qualifies as real competition for the Emira....
