Weird that the carfection video has still not dropped despite Henry mentioning it on a few podcasts/posts
I was thinking the same; maybe Jethro and Henry had a disagreement….. 😂
also looking through the reviews, the only place to give it 10/10 was CAR - that’s good enough for me.

Watched that a few minutes ago, it’s a great companion piece to the ‘review’ and for me was a better use of 7 minutes than the feature on Top gear.

The general consensus from most reviewers (and Chris) seems to be:

Looks amazing
Rides amazing
Handles well - apart from a little numbness with the front end
Engine - decent but unremarkable
Gearbox - decent but unremarkable

All in, great value.

A chat with Chris Harris just uploaded on Top Gear youtube channel...
A good chat, more honest and realistic than the drive review. Now the wind has died down a little, he is more critical of the engine and the gear box, with a bit of typical lotus play in the linkage as per all their cars, which is fair enough.
The engine, and in fact very few other engines, compare with the Porsche, something we all knew in reality, but in terms of everything else (apart from practicality, which he didn't mention at all) it would seem he prefers the Lotus and congratulates them on getting as close as they have to the Cayman>
We will take that as a good decent honest review..... still awaiting the Nemesis one from Jethro.....

for anyone that can't get to read the review, it is fairly similar stuff to the video, A little more praise towards the Emira and truly felt it was the more special car. But the Porsche still won on points.

If I could sum up the opinion of James Taylor it is this;

it's the 1976 F1 Grand Prix and the Emira = James Hunt and Cayman GTS 4.0 = Nikki Lauda

A nice driver POV video from Luey's Garage in New Zealand, driving the Seneca Blue pre-production car currently on tour there.

  • Is in fairly heavy traffic and urban roads, so limited acceleration and mostly in 2nd/3rd gear
  • Some confusion on suspension: dealer says on video it's Sports but reviewer has said in comments he thinks it was Touring
  • Shows there is no lag on startup: at least one previous review video suggested there was a 2-3 second delay between pressing the start button and the engine firing up
  • A short blip in both Tour and Sport after startup, then driving in Sport
  • Comments about the LHD pedal position needing some getting used to
  • Likes the steering wheel and steering, likes the noise

Fingers crossed the production cars sound as good! 🥰

at first I couldnt see the rubber strip, then I think I did...... and in the end I think it is less noticable as it seems to be stuck down a bit further into the gap. the bright sunny day also means its harder to see perhaps
