Hi forum hive mind, new member here. I have a 24 reg i4 Emira, have done 1,500 miles so now run in. Recently had the following message appear "Engine System Service Urgent" appear, was in normal driving, not under load. Anyone else had this pop up for them? No apparent issues with the car, temps all normal etc. thanks in advance for any help.

Not seen that one before, but I'd strongly suggest contacting you local dealer soonest to see what they have to say
The use of "Urgent" seems to imply something needs to be done, rather than just a suggestion of getting something done in the near future

I totally agree and suggest you record every call and email you send regarding any issue regardless of how trivial.
Welcome to the forum and hope you get some good sting in now you have ran it in. Personally I’d change the oil and filter at this point.

Doesnt appear to have a check engine light. Did that not come on?
Try to access your menu/messages on your display that says when service is due to see what that says as well. Never seen an "engine" service message....just service. Hopefully just a glitch in software. Def report to dealer.

I've seen this message twice on my i4 Emira, delivered in late March 2024. No red or yellow warnings, just the same message popped up in the display. I think it cleared by switching the engine off and restarting. Checked the oil level and other fluids, all ok. Continued driving. Assumed it was a Lotus software glitch, similar to the yellow engine warning light and tyre pressure sensor warning. Hopefully these issues will be cleared by software updates at it's first service next March.

To date I've covered just under 5,000 miles and no other issues. Except for the issues the car is running perfectly. It took a while for the engine to be run in. This was noticed by the oil consumption, requiring the car to be topped up at intervals which grew in distance. Last 100ml top up was 2,000 miles ago. I've used 350ml of oil in 5,000 miles. Cup 2 tyres are also doing well. No measurable wear, except for the front tyres which are wearing on the inside, this being ~0.5mm.

I'd be interested to hear what your Lotus dealer has to say, in the meantime check the car has enough oil, engine coolant, charger coolant, brake fluid, tyres pressures and happy driving.
