Everyday Driver Review - Emira/Cayman GTS/C8

Sports cars have to be bright colours. When you were a kid, was the poster on your bedroom wall of an Agate Grey Porsche? Nope. Be a kid again.

Lotus only made Nimbus and Shadow Grey to appeal to the boring Porsche drivers šŸ˜œ
You're probably right as I'm a porsche buyer and bought nimbus šŸ¤£ although tbf it's a more interesting and changeable grey than anything I can recall from porsshe. The bright colour Lotus just give too much of a plastic car look for me.

I think the trick with DV having seen it in many different lights is to stop thinking of it as a green, its a black with a hint of green.

People shouldn't have to explain why they got Nimbus instead of a skittle, silver is one of the most iconic motorsports colors. Sure, most of those icons wear a Mercedes badge, but the whole reason they were silver is because they didn't use paint at all. Which is to say, silver was the original color of adding lightness. I'll wear it proudly and bask in its dynamic contrast.

I mean sure, the original Auto Union streamliners were just polished metal, but I'm pretty sure the Mercedes etc silver use is because silver was the national color of Germany in international motorsport. The French used blue, the Italians red, the British green.

I can feel a historical debate over silver coming on.

100% can not agree with that, the back is stunning, rear Ā¾ my favourite viewView attachment 27915

Judging by some of the you tube reviews and especially this Lotus have done the Emira dirty by abandoning marketing on it
Great angle, this probably my favourite!

Love this review - it captures my test drive experience. Since the beginning of the year, I've been shopping: Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston, Lambo, various models. All of them are special in some way, and fantastic cars, and I was prepared to pay a much higher price than the Emira. But no car did what the Emira did: No other car made me go "whoohoo" while I was test driving it. That is what they said in the review, and that is why I think this case is special. To me at least.
