For US owners, has European delivery been an option?

No. I asked specifically about this when at the factory. Our guide made a call to the head of sales to find out. I even asked if they’d consider hire cars as part of some package where I pay to come, take the tour and use an Emira that isn’t mine to bop around for a week or two. They said, “that’s an interesting idea” in a tone that gave me no confidence in a follow up lol. So not in the cards. They cited regulations, road insurance etc. Obviously Porsche & BMW figured it out, but maybe the registry laws are different in Germany allowing temporary registrations?

I’m going anyway. Fly out next week to drive through Germany and the alps. Couldn’t find a Lotus to rent but I’ve sourced an MX-5, which is good enough.
