Hi there
I took my car to a shop today to have it checked out.
They said my power steering pump has a leak.

Is this a known issue? What is usually the main issue? (ie entire thing replaced or just parts)
Is it an expensive fix?

I assume its covered under warranty.. but don't really want to take it to the dealer as they're far far away and I have a ton of mods that they probably would not love.

Thanks a ton

It’s covered under warranty and an extremely common Emira failure, it’s all over the problems / issues forum. Even the very first delivered Emira had the power steering pump fail upon factory delivery.

Just had mine changed under warranty in the UK. It was picked up by the dealer at first service. He said it was ok to drive until replaced but it did get progressively noisier over time! I hope this helps

Yea, like KitKat said, this is extremely common. My power steering pump was changed at the dealer before the car was even delivered to me. I have no idea why this part is so prone to failure since it is a Toyota part.
