So, first time for me owning a higher end car.
Is there some general rules to go by about ownership and such,
Like a “you should never do x, y, z with your car…”
“Always do this… “ etc.

Like no off-road driving…
Don’t use cheap mechanics that will rip you off

Any cardinal sin to watch out for?

Don’t treat it as a garage queen. Drive it and don’t sweat the little scars it’ll get.

Everything else is common sense. It’s a Toyota drivetrain so it’s not fragile.

Don't learn the car's limits on public roadways with traffic around.

Other than normal car stuff I would add…

1. After broken in and warmed up drive it hard occasionally- this is healthy and perhaps counterintuitive

2. Make sure oil changes are done on time, don’t be lazy with this, not worth it

3. Don’t modify so quickly. Get used to the car and then figure out what you want to add. It may be more than enough stock.

4. Consider taking your car to the track. Take it easy and learn at your pace. It’s only on the track where you realize what modern sportscar platforms are capable of. It will far exceed what you think is possible and unlock more enjoyment from the car.

I echo the comments of seriously: look into tracks in your area; if nervous about doing this alone, consider joining a club with access to a track, where they sponsor "track days", preferably with some instruction available for those with no prior track experience. It's money +++ well-spent and until you track your Emira, you'll have no idea/appreciation for what it's been designed to do and more importantly, you'll miss out on GOBS OF "'LEGAL" FUN!

And you won't miss not getting speeding tickets while street driving, by saving it for the track; lol.

PS: I failed to mention that another benefit of track use is that it will vastly improve your driving skills, by better acquainting you with the Emira and how it handles with higher-speed cornering/braking/steering, plus imprinting on you, things like the need to look ahead to better anticipate/react to what's coming in front and how different tire/road conditions/temperatures affect the vehicle. Many people think being on a track is merely to go as fast as possible, but all tracks and instructors emphasize SAFETY FIRST, and it's not speed but rather control and proper cornering, that's more important. On a road track, you compete with yourself, hopefully with incremental improvements each lap as you get familiar with the course and more confident in your driving. The skills you learn on the track, will ++ help you drive any vehicle, anywhere, more safely. Another advantage of track use, over and above the "fun factor".
