Goodwood - updates and info

https://youtu.be/pZra8dmWC8w

Here's a link to the video I took of the exhaust at Goodwood. It's nothing ground breaking but hopefully it's useful to anyone that hasn't heard much of it up close
Not sure if this will work, but have tried to attach a bit more exhaust porn from FoS yesterday
Edit: That’ll be no then, apologies 🙄
Edit 2.0: Have now uploaded to Youtube

For US cars the plinths are a dealer fitted item, as some states don’t require a front plate.
This is great news. Many US sports car owners who live in "front plate" states also avoid the factory mount, and often will attach a plate on a carrier that screws into the front tow hook location.

Riding up the hill in the car was fantastic. The seats are very supportive, decent amount of side bolster for brisk cornering. Acceleration is rapid and pretty linear from the SC, it pulls hard from low revs and keeps going. Great V6 noise, even with windows closed and wearing a helmet. Gearchange looked fine and had to be done deliberately, like in an Evora. Grip was very good, even though Cup2s weren’t fully warm, and good precise turn in. The hill was dry and is smooth tarmac, so the slight downsides of Sport on uneven surfaces not apparent. Brakes were particularly impressive, even better than Evora.

We got loads of attention while waiting to start, lots of people taking pictures, waving, chatting.

Internet connectivity has been very patchy, so I haven’t been able to post much. I’ll do more when I get home tonight.

Question for those of you that went to Goodwood……

What manufacturer stands drew the biggest crowds?

Was the Lotus stand in the mix?

Definitely (on the Friday) - I would say it was one of the busiest... Porsche and BMW of course were also busy but no more than Lotus..

Bonnet seal: it looks more obvious in photos than in real life. If it hadn't been on my list of things to look at I doubt I would have noticed. On the Goodwood cars it's slightly recessed whereas earlier pictures showed it sticking up out of the gap and so looked wider. The gap it seals is wider than some of the other panel gaps, as it needs to hinge here for under bonnet access. I think they could have found a way to make the gap narrower and it may be possible to adjust the bonnet to reduce it. The seal is apparently for aerodynamics (perhaps there's some wind noise without it?) so I think removing it will be feasible and unlikely to cause issues.

Throwing this out there, but the solution might have been to hinge the lid at the windshield side, like a normal bonnet. As it is, the seal was added after the fact. A windshield side hinge might make it harder to access what is beneath the bonnet, depending on the design.
