Its worth noting, the harness that he has is the 'road legal' harness not just because of some buckle mechanism that is understood by safety crews, but also I believe they have a built in 'stretch' mechanism that mimics the 3 point factory system that won't stop your body abruptly snapping your head forward putting strain on your neck.If it has a roll bar you should be good. Adjust the harness so the lap belt fits as low as possible. That will hopefully keep the pressure off your organs if you should need the harness. It's hard to do with a 4 point, but with effort you can do pretty well. And make sure that you get the straps centered on the HANS so it holds if you need it.
This is also considered street legal so it should pass any HPDE tech inspection, but probably good idea to get a HANS device. My crotch doesn't like a 5 point. Can’t wait for a 5/6 point solution. Some DE groups won’t pass 4pts some will accept only Schroth 4 pts that are vehicle specific approved by Schroth like the gt3 in the gt3. And some require FIA approved harnesses. I just don’t want to spend a bunch of money on something that might limit my options for track days. I’ve gotta jump on the weekends that work for the family schedule. #dadlife. Looks like I’ll be sliding around my stock seat for this season unless I can find a sub bar solution.
