I4 transmission?

I just picked my Emira up on Monday so I’ve only driven it a couple times, but I’ve noticed I’m never in 8th gear. I’ve been trying to follow the running-in instructions so I’m in tour mode and thought it would shift up by itself. Last night I tried to use the paddle to upshift into 8th and nothing happened. Everything I’ve seen online says the 4 cylinder comes with a 8 speed DCT it even say so in the owner’s manual. I’m just curious what is going on? Is there something wrong with my car? Is everything I’ve seen online wrong? Am I just stupid? You don’t have to answer the last question I know I am, but any help would be appreciated thanks.

Mine wont go into 8th unless I am in touring, doing about 72mph and on a level road. Once in 8th, it will stay there unless the speed drops below approx 65mph on level road

Oh that makes sense. I have only gone above 65mph for short sprints since I haven’t got on the highway. I live in Arizona so I’m trying to avoid rock chips until I get a PPF. In my Supra it would shift into 8th gear going 30mph, so I thought something was wrong lol. I just haven’t gone fast enough for long enough to shift into 8th thank you.
