Once you know how it's a 20 min jobVery Exciting! My only hesitation is the installation - could be a pain (and expensive) to have to have it uninstalled before each state inspection, then reinstalled again after.
Our new i4 just finished getting ppf installed and is now just waiting for shipping. Hope to have it next week!

Agreed but that could be yearsIt's a piggy back. Install should be straight forward.
This is an awesome development. I am personally still holding out hope for a full crack and tune to get into more of the 500+ HP range but for £400 this is a great intermediate step while we wait for someone to release a full crack/tune.
Years would be surprising. Most cars it takes a few months after release (I am thinking of similarly small market cars as well). I would be shocked if it took years - you are right though that that is likely a little ways off still.Agreed but that could be years
Unfortunately some ECU's from 2021 onwards are still unbreakable.. :-(Years would be surprising. Most cars it takes a few months after release (I am thinking of similarly small market cars as well). Hopefully someone posts a Youtube video of install....Once you know how it's a 20 min job
Do you know how much boost are they running on yours?Ok, final testing completed and everything runs exactly as it should. I've seen no significant increase in coolant temps, zero engine check lights. The car runs great, pulls hard and being turbo charged it has responded well to the box with a noticeable increase in mid range. In track mode it feels very rapid. My car is booked in for some final tweaks on the Dyno with a view to finalising numbers....which I know we all want for pub bragging rights
TDI Tuning is the tuner, the owner Steve is adamant he won't state final numbers yet. The product is available to pre order now from their website with their base map, the final map will be an over the air update using their app connected via Bluetooth to their tuning box. Steve is very anti BS and from experience of his work with my other cars, very realistic with what's achievable. I'm not expecting the same increase but FWIW my G87 M2 went from 465bhp to 591bhp with their tuning box. I was present at the Dyno on the day, as were several other G series M cars being tuned, plus I know the Dyno and the operator.
As already mentioned, the sensors used in the Emira are not the same as those on the V6 (obviously), or an A45S AMG Mercedes. TDI Tuning spent a lot of time figuring out how to read them, etc - it wasn't straightforward but I'm very glad TDI persevered.
Their box is Bluetooth enabled and controlled via an app with settings 1 to 7 and completely off. They provide an Emira specific extended sensor cable set to connect the box up and the instructions are being written up as I typed this. It's possible to fit the box yourself if you can jack the rear of the car up to remove the rear under tray, although I would recommend a local garage fit it using their lift.
The box is great in so far it's relatively little cost for a significant power bump and can be removed & refitted without the downsides of a permanent remap. BTW - I'm not advertising or getting anything from TDI for this post. I purposely bought my i4 Emira to tune it and replace my Exige for dual duty track and daily driver. Tuning was a big priority and my experiences of tuning my V6 Exige meant the i4 was the only platform to reliably run 450+ bhp without spending big and even then I'd be left with a transmission that will need almost the same spent on it. This box is a big step in the right direction.
I'm curious what can be achieved with this, an uprated charge cooler core, a decent downpipe and induction setup. Watch this space.
btw they don't ship to California so I ordered through a buddy
