I’m looking to mount a GoPro inside my Emira, w/o using a suction cup which is frowned upon at the track. I purchased the ZL1 tow hook mount but would prefer the view from the windshield and capturing some of the dashboard and interior sound, if possible. I’d rather not drill holes or do anything to damage the seats, but perhaps this is a tall order, given the OEM seat set-up.

I have a useless 1” aluminum square tube, u-bolt and wing-nut set-up (see photo), which would work well if the Emira had “the usual” passenger seat headrest with 2 posts, to attach the u-bolts onto, and position the camera between the seat headrests.

I tried a shoulder/waist strap tightened all the way on the passenger seat (see photos) but expect the elastic strap will transmit too much vibration, ruining any video footage.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Since when are suction cups on track (inside the car!) frowned upon?

Get yourself the Meta RayBan glases for POV shootages. Great quality at 12MP easy to use with voice commands: Hey Meta, start recording etc.

I won't know for sure until I'm at my local tracks, but they reject any interior objects that could fly around so I worry they may not like a suction-mounted camera. It would "suck" (pun intended) to show up with that set-up and have to take it down. I'm also hoping to get a view of the dashboard, as indicated in my initial post and expect it shouldn't be attached to the driver side window, in order to roll the window down. Perhaps (?) the rear window, but that would block some view. Where do you put yours in your Emira, Foxy87?

The Blendmount mirror mount (silent cilantro suggestion) is not only sold out, but I suspect it wouldn't attach to the Emira mirror (see photos below). You'd need a smaller and robust clamp of some sort, to grab onto the "ball stem" between the Emira mirror and its headliner area.

I'm leery about a helmet mount, because of the potential suction issue and safety reasons, but that's just me.

The Meta RayBan glasses are interesting and something I knew nothing about. I need prescription lenses and have already invested in a GoPro 13.

This being all new to me, all replies MUCH appreciated!

Well I dont have an Emira yet but I would try to put it between the two seats on the rear window just in front of the engine. If this is too far back (which I doubt, as with a suction cup you can extend the arm a bit and with the hypersmooth feature there wont be too much movement), I would probably just put it on the inside of the windshield.

I’ve never had any concerns with California track orgs prohibiting suction mounts. I use a RAM windshield mount for my aim solo. You could use something similar for the GoPro on the rear window.

Eventually we should have some options for harness bars if you want to get a rollbar mount for the GoPro.

Here’s my helmet pov:

It uses the same bracket as their existing blend mount for radar detectors. I have one for mine in the Emira. No point if it’s out of stock though :p

Helmet mount would use double sided tape, not suction. I need to lower mine a little bit but here is what I did so you get an idea:

Suction mount usually ok on track (UK) but has to be tethered to something solid in case it detaches itself.

Apparently they only record for 3 minutes at a time. Kinda annoying esp if ur on the track and focused
