Is my paint blistering? May 2024 build.

Hello, I recently picked up up my car from a dealer(not ordered) and I'm wondering if this was caused from sitting outside for probably 6-8 months.

Door jam states a 05/2024 build, and the picture is right under the passenger side window.

The car is now garaged with me, but it is a daily, and experiences normal weather and rain, besides snow/ice of course.

Yep blistered. Nowhere near as bad as mine was, but it’ll almost certainly get worse. Book it in as soon as you can as the doors are on back order

Yes it does.. my read hatch is full of it and will be replaced by warranty

Unfortunate to hear, I assumed a mid 2024 build wouldn't have paint issues, knock on wood nothing more serious happens.

Ugh. Yeah, looks exactly the same as the single "middle finger in your face" blister I have.

If that May 2024 build date is accurate, that would put paid the notion it was "solved" by then (but of I suppose, we have no idea how old any given panel is, regardless of build dates).

It was never solved that was just a part number change and rumor. Haven’t we seen blistering on replacement parts already?

It's going to be more interesting to see how Lotus deal with this outside of warranty.
Do US cars have 3 or 5 year paint warranty (like UK)?

At one point I think it was 5 then people have said it’s 3. I’m not really sure

It was 5yrs, when the car was sold by Lotus at that time, will always have the 5yr warranty. They have since changed it to 3yrs, cars sold by Lotus since then will only qualify for the 3yr warranty. 2nd hand sales do not reset the warranty duration, it is what it was at the time Lotus first sold the car
All of the above applies to cars sold in the UK, but I seriously doubt any other country has a different interpretation of the law.

The US has a 3 year warranty on paint.

Sure, but that was something a dealer claimed, and you know how reliable that information has been.

Sounds about right. I think the change was made Aug/Sep 2024. I'm sure someone here has the accurate date
