Key not present- but it is…

I’ve almost gotten used to this now but maybe there is an easy fix. Takes several button presses to lock/unlock car. When in the car, I often- not always, get the key not present message. If I lock and unlock the car from inside it starts fine.
Is this a common issue or shouldn’t this be happening?

Have you replaced the battery? Mine reported low battery this weekend and started acting up soon after. Thankfully I has a replacement battery with me, as I'd seen the low battery warning
Surprised the issues started so soon after the warning. I'd have expected at least a weeks grace period.
