Yep..... worrid me a little with astom martin.... Have you driven a MP4-12C ..... worth a try..... Found one I wanted... but guy went in day before... paid cash.... even after I paid 2K deposit.... Think he offered full price..... which it was worth... and had already got 3k off sticker. Was for the better I think .... turned out it had covid linked to it Thorney Motorsport knew the car, when I rang and asked them to do prey purchase inspection with a veiw to taking out there warranty

The 8 yes a good A to B car, nice prace to be.... But unlike with the Maserati... I did not smile like a kid every time I fired it up

If ever you did look for a 570s you got to check out Thorney Motorsport warranty.... end to end cover .... they will also tell you they dont cost that much to run, service well and take a warranty you be good..... they have MP4-12C on service books with 100,000k on them. When i got to drive the MP4-12C ..... I was a little apprehensive..... it was like putting an old pair of slippers on.... just felt good.... Oh..... I try to do one at least once a month..... sold the 840 so running round in honda jazz with 120000 on it... it did pass MOT no issues.... but nice to be back in something nice for few hours. Going to try BMW new Z car next week.... I think the EMIRA is going to be epic..... looks and drive..... I got to drive an esprit some years back, was blown away with how that handled ..... so things can have only got better..... Was told by dealer..... i dont know how much to trust in this..... but there might be some of test drive road show happening.... at tracks or something around the country .... but time will tell

I placed my original order/deposit with Endeavour Colchester on the 9th July. About 2 weeks later was told the process has changed and that I need to placed the order again directly with Lotus and the dealer was going to credit my deposit back but I will not lose my deposit slot. After placing my order again with lotus on 27th I emailed Scott @ Lotus with my order and what has happened and he assured me my 9th order will stand. I haven't had my 3rd call yet so called Lotus mainly with a finance question but whilst on the phone asked them when I should be getting the call and reason I hadn't was they had me down as a 27th deposit maker. I informed them on what had happened and they have asked me to email them with Scott and they will speak with management and call me this week to sort out but again assured that I should keep my 9th July deposit slot!

Good to see they will put this right. It was a confusing start as the dealers (now agents)didn't know they weren't supposed to take deposits so plenty of people had this problem

After a lot of thinking I have just cancelled my order. Although a wonderful looking car, I’m looking for something a bit more raw and got my eyes set on an exige. Would have been a July delivery for me so hopefully someone gets a bump up the list

Sorry you dropped out.... what was your config...... you mention July delivery.... had you been told that ..... be interesting to see how Lotus handle this.... If its a forum member get picks

Yeah I cancelled after finding out delivery details. My original order was July 9th so probably end of July, would have thought it’s a move up for the line behind me, won’t be a big change. Mines was verdant green with tan leather.

Delivery details ?sorry.... did you have issue with delivery details, its cost or something..... so you not had call telling you July.... with how they been dealing with things .... they may offer it to next person in list with same or simalar config .... Again I am sorry you dropped out.... dont think it will help me in any way.... Oct 18th deposit..... dont expect to see car till end of year at best..... perhaps early 2023

No nothing wrong with delivery details. I had the call telling me July but had been thinking about calling up and cancelling for a few weeks. As I said I think he emira will be a great car, I’m just looking for something a bit more raw. Currently have an Elise 220 and thinking about an exige 410, once a more stripped out emira comes along I think I will be more interested. It would only be a weekend toy for me.

There have been ongoing issues with the conversion of dealer deposits into central Lotus deposits and the correct recording of original deposit date. Scott asked all the dealers to provide the necessary info to HQ but some didn't, either failing to notify about individual customers or providing no dates or wrong ones. Plus Lotus then entered some of the data incorrectly.

I was one of the affected people and had numerous calls and emails with my dealer, Scott and Lotus Customer Services until it finally got sorted in December. I was being assured all the way through that my original date would be honoured, which was good. I was still hearing about other people being affected in late January.

Anyone in the UK who placed a dealer deposit and had it converted across should have a clear message from Lotus about what deposit date they hold. V6 FE people can also do a rough check of the delivery month they've been told against what others have been saying about batches (up to mid 8 July = June, 11 July = Sept etc). Lotus have so far called people up to part way through 11 July, for Sept delivery.

If you did a dealer deposit and you're not getting a V6 FE, I'd suggest double-checking with LCC now. Original deposit date affects when in the sequence you get called and what i4 build slot you get.

I went through the same process of giving the initial deposit to my dealer and then being asked to pay Lotus directly and the dealer would refund what I gave them, which they did promptly. I was asked by the dealer to give them the reference number which Lotus provided to me so the dealer could reconcile that back to Lotus to make sure Lotus knew it was me. Bit cumbersome all round but it seemed to work as my place in the line was preserved.

Understood. I've seen a few messages about a new round of "do you want V6 or i4" emails having been sent earlier this week. I know Lotus didn't manage to contact all the UK deposit holders before Christmas about this choice. But I'm surprised some of the people now being contacted appear to have placed first deposits in July/Aug. Perhaps they are doing a sweep through of people with first deposits who didn't reply. I'd be interested to hear what they say when you speak to them.

Got the link today to configure and pay second deposit. Submitted now and so will wait and see what they come back with now regarding potential delivery date...

Deposit placed on the 13th July, waiting for 3rd phone call from Lotus, i will post on here once i have heard from them.
