What is the price?
They claim below £100k. The one that's being displayed is likely far higher than that.

My guess is at least $135k to start in the US? It also depends heavily on how different markets around the world apply tariffs on China-built vehicles. The US has had some significant tariffs in place in the last few years on Chinese automobiles but I'm not sure what the current situation is there. If it's a really significant figure (20%+) it could make the car non-competitive in the US, with a starting price much higher than the UK equivalent. It remains to be seen.

I gotta say I'm impressed, this beats Urus in every way tbh..... But I have one major problem with Lotus:

After so much teasers and hype, once again we end up with a car revealed with very little details provided, Emira also didn't have power details or exhaust system details or actual weight or actual pricing and many other stuff..... It's same here!

Now already like some guys pointed out there's around 1000hp version also and over 200KG of downforce, why did Lotus decided to skip on that info on launch?

What they did is Hype the market so people consider lotus when they buying their next performance SUV which is smart but the 600hp figure specially being electric kinda makes it underwhelming? I saw some media channels comparing it to I-Pace and Mach-E for real lol..... I thought it's Hyper-SUV so it should have power figures as such.... 600 not small amount but it's not impressive in an electric body....

I was hoping Lotus goes all in with their info to have a very strong imapct that will show the world how serious Lotus are!!!!

End of the day super impressed and well done Lotus specially that interior + tech blowing competition away (infact it will suck if I had to be competing against Lotus now) and since I ordered it already several months ago I can't really wait, but for sure I will be getting the near 1000hp version.

Take the badge off and it could be from South Korea. The technology will be make or break for this car.

Not really, you understand Lotus have a technology division that is believed to be worth 8 billion dollars? It's similar to VW group they use Porsche to develop their technologies and invest billions into it...... Geely does same for Lotus to send this tech into Polestar/Volvo/their chinese brands also....

To me Eletre is more impressive than Emira, not as excited for it as Emira but it's way too impressive to be true, the styling, the powertrain, the aerodynamics, the tech, the interior, the details like screen placement is so impressive I can't see something out there comes close, if the rumoured 1000hp version is over 150K I will still buy it!

I agree, can’t compare it to Urus…. electric is a totally different market. It looks decent, but I’m sure we’ll see a host of new electric SUVs over coming months & years.
It’s all set for driving automation, this is a whole new era of motoring

And what is so special about Urus? It's a car that have VW developed platform, in Audi interior/electronics and Porsche powertrain......

If we gonna speak about DBX or upcoming Purosangue then yeah Lotus can't compare, since they have their own platform + impressive powertrain (in case of DBX heavily modified from Mercedes), and they have as a luxurious interior as Bentley unlike Urus that looks like 80K car interior

No way is it worth 8 billion dollars or even one billion dollars. There’s an aspiration that it is but look at Aston Martin their value at the moment is only 1.8 billion dollars.

Lotus say this is a hyper car and the price will reflect that which means it won’t be for the masses and as such the lotus technology spin off won’t be worth billions how could it be?

Time will tell, it's already planned and as per the experts that's the estimate to the value of Lotus Technology! That's how much Geely planning to make Lotus the spotlight of their group like Porsche to VW group

Its Not a whole new era of motoring, its a new era of passively being driven around by automation.

SO SAD !!!...... Last month I took my 16yr old daughter out for the first time to drive after (finally) getting her leaners permit (only after much nagging/prodding by me for her to get the leaners permit)

We started off in a huge mall parking lot just to get the feel of the car before even going onto public roads.

First question she asked when sitting behind the wheel first time was........ "what does each of those pedals do? what are they for ? " I AM NOT KIDDING

FOR REAL !!, this is what happens when these kids grow up looking at their phone perpetually while being driven around since childhood. God forbid these kids should have any curiosity to observe how the car is being operated by their parents for the last decade while being driven around.

And you can imagine my disappointment.....coming from me, her dad, who was driving on public roads illegally at the age of 14.

This generation sucks.
