Not your fault Tom we should have all had a bit more foresight
I was looking for your car but struggled to find it!
Was it this one? #hidinginplainsite

It was a different management team at Lotus when they did the 70th Anniversary event. It seems times have changed. All that launch crap fireworks and build up completely turns me off.
Just bring a car, park it up...... bingo
Why bother with the big birthday event at the factory if not bothered about the existing drivers.
I think this is a marketing department oversight and i bet someone is biting on their thumb!
Very poor judgement
If Lotus only has 3 Emiras available to them at this point in time, then they/we really are in trouble! It was a different management team at Lotus when they did the 70th Anniversary event. It seems times have changed.
MLOC, Central Lotus and I all asked Lotus for an Emira to attend and were told "sorry, the press cars are all busy that weekend". The localdealeragent made the effort to attend, along with a number of indies and other Lotus-related aftermarket suppliers. Missed opportunity and was noticed and commented on by a lot of people.
Ah good old working silos. They've got more cars than that (7 Emiras at Goodwood for example) but silos within Lotus seem to make it more difficult. Different teams have "their" cars and no one seems able to loan a car to another team. So one team wants to support LitP but Press/PR have got all their cars allocated to something else. Development can't loan a car etc etc.
I had found a volunteer from Hethel willing to drive a car to the event and chat to people, but no car.
I'm not sure if they're deliberately ignoring the enthusiasts and owners of previous models, or just that it's part of the whole poor comms thing.
I'm assuming the large majority of the 120 people who placed pre-reveal deposits are current or former Lotus owners. They were prepared to take an Emira without a test drive. They'll also be the first month's deliveries and hence the first cars other people will see. Not engaging with them in any way (in fact screwing up their deposits and hence the limited comms they have got) seems like another missed opportunity.
And with ice creams retailing at over £5 we need to be affluent up hereAh good old working silos.
That venue with that audience, I simply fail to understand why it wouldn't have been in the Marketing calendar in advance.
If you wanted to make it less about the enthusiast and more about New Lotus, then bring the Eletre
The 35mile radius around Chatsworth is probably the most affluent in the North/Midlands.
Anyway.....
You had to be rich just to attend. Helicopters onlyAnd with ice creams retailing at over £5 we need to be affluent up here

Yes were quite a fewJeeps, never seen so many Lotus (Loti?) in one place before - usually such gatherings are the preserve of Porsche, Alfa, Ferrari etc. Really disappointed to have missed out...
@Leonard, @TomE, and everyone else who posted up pictures and info about the event. Quite an eclectic mix of models and colours. The weather would have been perfect.
Were there many Series 2 Exiges? Did see handful in the photographs, but didn't think I saw any Series 2 special editions; Cup 255/260, RGB, S2 Type 25, Scura, GT3, Sprint etc?
Thanks - my mistake, I meant the Type 72. The green one in the photograph looks like the Exige S3 Type 25, and a true limited edition model, but there was an Elise Type 25 prior to that!Yes were quite a few
I liked this one Sorry for poor photo View attachment 7346
No my bad I saw S2 and read S3Thanks - my mistake, I meant the Type 72. The green one in the photograph looks like the Exige S3 Type 25, and a true limited edition model, but there was an Elise Type 25 prior to that!
This is the thing with Elise and Exige 'Special Editions' - get a number wrong and you end up talking about a completely different car.

Judging by the rear spoiler and roof scoop, it appears to be a 2010 S2 Exige, but the wheels are not standard. What's this one?View attachment 7357
