šŸ““ Journals New car is here, well worth the wait.

This prefix is only usable in the Lotus Emira Journals forum.
Same on all Eliseā€™s and exiges. The edges wear a bit in time but they really should have an extra Process to make them nicer when new.

I love it. The car gets soooo much attention out and about. Iā€™ve just picked up my daughter from school and the kids were all pointing at it. Regards the drive, itā€™s full of character, there is loads of feedback through the steering wheel. Makes an nice noise. Overall Iā€™m absolutely thrilled with it.

Clutch is hard work in traffic. I havenā€™t mastered shutting the boot yet! The machining on the gear knob must have been done at the same factory that made my fake Rolex!

Driving is more of an ā€˜eventā€™ than my previous cars.
Havenā€™t driven it hard as still running in.
Yeeessss the first Fakearari

Not a chance right now but by the time we get ours, after all these people bitch and complain about it, it will be new and improve! ;)
If I'm honest it worries me.
How can there be a person at Lotus designing this knob that spends X amount of time doing it, recieves samples etc and says this is acceptable. I'm proud of this. Same with the person doing the QC. Smacks of a laissez faire attitude and at odds with the quality message they are pushing. It simply wouldn't happen anywhere else. Especially on a touch point!

Are we sharing knob pics?

Great... here is mine. It is stiff but feels amazing in the hand.

I have had 4 Lotus with same gear knob and all were perfect and seen plenty more that were perfect, so quality of this one is iffy.

I guess they have maybe changed suppliers

I have small delicate hands not used to a full days work, no stamina tire quickly - not rough builder hands like hubby. Another concern to add to my growing list to check lol šŸ˜ I mean come on if Shmee even raised it - I canā€™t accept something rough thatā€™s gonna dig in my ickle mit

Iā€™ve requested that they post me out a replacement gear knob as itā€™s quite a trek to my nearest dealer. Iā€™m going to wait until there is a recognised fix for a couple of very minor gripes before I take it in, otherwise I think I will be back and forth.
