Emira on order
I probably represent the quintessential new customer that Lotus is hoping to scoop up with their introduction of the Emira. I have been a loyal BMW customer for the last 15 years, with my most special car being the 2019 i8. Once the lease on that car expired, I decided to go a more conventional sport sedan route with a 530e for more practicality. Yes, it's been practical, but also boring as hell, so looking ahead to end of my current lease, I decided to return to the sports car market. Happened upon a FB post about promising new sports cars, which mentioned the Emira. No sooner had I done a little research on the car (reading reviews, watching videos) than I was hooked. Placed a deposit on the car a little over a week after first hearing of it, so now join the long list of people waiting for U.S. production to begin. I know it will be a long wait (at least 2 years) but expect it to be worth it.

A little surprised to see there haven't been any posts in this thread for a couple of years, so thought I'd contribute something. Im not sure but I think there has been no action because it was OP introduction post being new to forum. Welcome either way.

Welcome. A lot of legwork has been done for you by Forum members, who tend to be a raucous and interesting bunch generally united in a regard for the Lotus brand and folklore.
While there is some drama associated with The Big Wait in North America and elsewhere, you can pass the time catching up with the various threads and posts. Fair warning: it can be habit forming.

I’ve moved your post and replies into its own thread.

Welcome to the forum and the long wait. There’s more information (and actual cars) available now compared to big parts of the last 2 years

I hope you find useful content on here. The threads on test drives and reviews are a good starting point, then the photos sub-forum and owners journals.
