Hey

Need some opinions here. (Didnt know how to start a poll, maybe I can add it later?)

My plan was to order an Emira V6 base later this year once V6 base prices are out and the V6 is finally back in the conifgurator. Also thinking about buying used if base price would be too high and the right one comes up (not many V6 manual available here). But now a used GT430 popped up and makes me second guess my plan. I definitely like the Emira more looks wise and I am not going to do a lot of trackdays (1-2 a year). So looking at this objectively, a GT430 would probably be overkill. On the other hand, the Gt430 is pretty rare and I dont think it will depreciate a lot more, so I will probably loose less money compared to the Emira. I could take the G430 and wait if there will be any sharper Emira V6 manual versions coming out in the future (which doesnt look like it will be the case). I am on the fence to take a look at the GT430. The stats are the following:

Used GT430, 35k km (22k miles), CHF 95k (USD 105k)

A new Emira (base) should be around CHF 115K (USD 128k) with options here.

What would you do? (Yes I know this is an Emira Forum;))

Thanks

The Evora GT 430 will become and remain more unique as time flies by whereas the Emira, due to the large production numbers, will become more and more just a plane sports car........

What do you want?
Raw? Refined
Raw = Evora
Refined = Emira

I loved my Evora but for me at 58 years old the Emira checks the boxes for me.
Did I just say Emira = old :ROFLMAO:
not at all
Treh Emira should be capable of anything the Evora can do with just a pinch extra refinement

As chirowolf said, it’s about refinement. Do you want it, or not. If you do, Emira, if you don’t, Evora. I had an Evora 400 and I’ve now got an Emira, so I’ve had both.

I think it comes down to your personal preference, for me it would be worth the wait to get an Emira. I have had 3 Evora, the last one was a 21 Evora Gt that I traded in on the Emira. The Emira is every bit the sports car to me, but with a perfect blend of luxury, and I really like the looks of it more, I go in the Garage just to look at it, it is artwork for me!!!

My vote is to buy whichever vehicle you prefer, due to your driving skills and preferences. For me, depreciation doesn't factor into the decision, but that's just me. Buy whatever you find more fun to drive and whatever makes you happier. You don't need the results of a poll IMO, to make what's got to be your own personal choice.

And sorry Rudolph, I don't agree that the Emira "will become just a plain sports car" over time. Sure there will be more around than the Evora, but to me it stands out amongst its rivals and always will. I confess to just a little bit of bias, with that remark, since i prefer the Emira over my C8 Corvettes (owned 2 for over a year each) and anything Porsche has in any close price range...or even compared to the more expensive Porshe Turbo S, although I only spent an hour test driving the Turbo S and didn't like its rear weight and ability to corner.

But the Evora and Emira are both Lotus, with the "Lotus magic" so what others have said about "refinement" holds true: if you want more "daily driver options/interior and better looks" go with the Emira; or choose the Evora if you don't want that but prefer something that's "more raw". That said, the photos you've provided of the Evora, certainly show a great looking vehicle! Good luck making your choice.

I had an Evora GT 410 sport. Kept it along the Emira for a few months, but for daily use Emira is much better, and almost the same capabilities on road.

I had an Evora 430 for a couple of months which lotus loaned me while I was waiting on delivery of an Exige 410. I have an Emira currently, but can tell you that I still think about the 430. The Emira is amazing..but the 430 is another level up.
