Disclaimer, I am far from a gear-head, and definitely new to the Lotus brand, so take the following with a grain of salt
So having decided and done some light modifications on my recently acquired Lotus Emira, I thought that it would be beneficial to pass on my experience.
So my fellow Emira forum members, I would like to pass on the positive experience that these few upgrades have had on my Lotus Emira.
Friends do not let friends drive their Emira’s stock ✌
Second, IMHO I would like to express that GRP is great resource for the Lotus community. While experiences with online sellers can be hit or miss, GRP is a family owned business operated by a true Lotus enthusiast and is an owner who treats his customers honesty.
Cheers

- I am not much of a “gear-head” and I never have been one to go much beyond stock on my prior sports cars. Installing a cold air intake on a prior Corvette was as much as I have gone down this rabbit hole. Having said that, I decided to do what would be still classified by most people as light modding of my Emira. Having bought the upgrade items and driven the car post install, I thought it would be beneficial to pass on my experience to my fellow forum members. The Emira upgrades included: 3rd cat delete, Milltek Valve Controller, GRP Cold Air intake, and Wheel spacers. The short summary of the experience from the upgrades steers me to believe that these should be standard/uniform upgrades on all Lotus Emira’s. The car sounds intoxicating with the upgrades. The audio feedback really transforms the driver’s experience when driving the car compared to the audio feedback of the stock car, even compared to the deeper tones created while in sport mode. Even though the hp boost between the intake and exhaust is relatively small (I believe around 12-15 hp), you definitely can feel the hp boost compared to stock. Simply put, the combination of an air intake upgrade and the exhaust mods, is transformative to the car.
- I am by random chance, geographically in the same area as GRP (Greg’s Race Products). This factor steered me toward doing the Emira upgrades and taking advantage of a Lotus aftermarket parts company being local to me. My Emira upgrade process included meeting the Owner and leaving my Emira with his shop for the Upgrades. The interaction that I had with GRP was nothing but positive.
