Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

It’s gone straight in this afternoon for a full ppf. In a way I’m quite pleased as having the car today felt very surreal so Iv got a couple of days now for it to sink in. Coming from an auto daily driver Im loving the manual and very mechanical feeling of the transmission and engine. Also the speed is perfect for UK roads, quick but I didn’t feel like I was going to end up in a hedge… always a positive 🤣
Can I ask where you're getting it done and how much? I live in the South East and want to get mine wrapped. Thanks

Two recommendations from me:

And these are options and prices from Caffyns Lotus Kent:

Anyone Midlands based should look at PW Pro Mansfield, often customises the templates so they curve around the panel edges, absolute artist. Approved fitter for SCD club as well

A screenshot from a YouTube vid nicely showing how well red leather pairs with Nimbus. A lot of the photos of this combo don't represent the red leather well. This is truer to the eye, I think.

Agreed! I got to drive the nimbus/red US demo on two different occasions. Once on a sunny day and once in the rain. It looks fantastic in all lighting. The red interior also flows with the red in the tails and calipers (if also red). I almost changed my spec to Nimbus after seeing it in person.

This thread has been quiet lately. Does anyone have (or can any of you photoshop gurus provide) a pic of Nimbus with Upper Black Pack, Red Leather, Diamond cut wheels (and preferably black calipers)? Im thinking that's my spec and would love to see a pic or rendition

A bit of trivia for Nimbus Grey owners. I was on a factory tour last week and told my guide that I had a Nimbus Grey ordered. He took me over to a board that demonstrates how they build up the paint on the panels. They put a metal infused base material on the fiberglass so they can electrostatically add a base coat that's sort of whiteish. Then they add the color coat. Then a clear coat.

Then he showed me how complex the Nimbus Grey paint really is. He had jars of each color that's in the paint. It's made up of blue, pearlescent pink, black, 2 different sizes of aluminum flecks and a carrier base. No gray or silver at all. That's why at different angles and lighting it can look so drastically different!

That's pretty cool! Did he show you any other colors? I'm curious how they make Seneca Blue. It's such a dynamic color.

Interesting. I'm going to try very hard not to crash mine, because colour matching is going to be a bitch.

No, all he said was the Nimbus was the tough one to make. Probably why they had all the jars out for show!

I had the opportunity to test drive a Nimbus FE at a grand opening event for Lotus Cape Fear in Wilmington, NC. I have Seneca on order, but the NC sunset was playing beautifully on the Nimbus portrait. It had a rose gold / bronze vibe to it.

I'm happy with Seneca, but I can say Nimbus is a gorgeous (and unique!) color.

Figured I'd share for any of you across the pond where the sun doesn't shine. 😉

Do you have any more photos/videos of your spec? I saw your others in the gallery but I want more! :) I currently have spec'd the exact aesthetics as you (following in Harry's footsteps) and I'm still a bit torn on the color and wheels but this spec is still my front-runner.

Your pics are helping to set my mind at ease as I think that look has a unique sporty yet classic sports car look (no upper black pack and sporting the silver wheels with yellow calipers).

Thanks!
