If I recall correcly, "a sportscar like no other" was the sales pitch for the Mazda RX-8 back in 2003.

Suicide doors and a rotary engine? Maybe there was a reason for that lol.

Hey, some trucks carry those doors, like the FJ Cruiser. The moveable B pillar/suicide doors also makes fitting a roll cage incredibly easier.

The rotary has let those cars down though for sure. When they first came out, I think the CAN Bus system really kept them from being good tuner cars. Not that you could squeeze more out of the Renesis. But CAN Bus as it was understood at the time basically locked you out of good mods and engine swaps.

I do respect that they tried something different. If they could only solve the fuel consumption and reliability, I would love a 9000 rpm redline.
