RB Performance Brakes is a Supporting Vendor!

Sweet! Are the street/spirted pads available yet? I noticed on their website you can add them to cart but I recall them saying they were about 6 weeks away from releasing them

Brake pads are being expeditiously manufactured so please take note on the following "calculated" schedule:

Pre-order before October 20 your order will be available at our Fullerton warehouse 11/5/24, and if you pick up you can have them the same day, or add shipping (next day or 5 days for ground).

Order after 10/20 the pads will be available @12/15/24.

Instead of GB, we offer a 15% discount for pre-orders. Code "DIS-15" which expires after 10/20.

We truly appreciate your support and expectation, meantime please understand that we can't run a GB for the time and efforts involved so we can focus our limited renounces on product development.

Thank you.

Awesome! Thanks much. One question for the street/spirited pads, would these be OK to use on the track once or twice? Of course not having the same stopping power as the track pads but wanted to see if they were OK for an occasional track day.

Brake pad compounds:
  • XT910 - For street and spirited driving, provides no squeaking, low dust, and excellent modulation.
  • XT970 - Higher temperature resistant than XT910, more suitable for tracking but is more dusty and may occasionally squeak on street.

Racing Brake XT910 vs XT970

Wondering how the XT970 would compare to EBC Blue or Yellow for track use? Considering the EBC is almost half the price at GRP. Genuinely curious as I am interested in a full set of pads.

There is a lot more in the brake compound (friction material) itself than a comparison in the marketing data and pricing. If you are happy with what you have stay with it, if not give us a try we offer worry free and complete satisfaction guarantee or your money will be refunded.

Warren, do you also ship to the EU? If not I will buy through a forwarding post.

Thank you

Tried to order a full set of XT970 and it failed at checkout. Cleared the cart and tried again but it says only available Dec 15th?

See various patented designs built into our brakes (Including open slots):
Advantage of an open (thru) slot finish:
  • Has the advantages of both drilled & slotted rotors
  • Allows the disc to expand and contract and prevents the disc from cracking or warping
  • Increasing cooling area and retains more friction surface
  • Slots relieves thermal stress
  • Slots are self cleaning and the pad build up will not clog the slots and are exhausted via the rotor edge keeping the disc surface clean
  • Reduces brake pad dust buildup and keeps the wheel clean through vacuum effect

@Warren-RB curious to know why your iron discs (non-CCB) are drilled and slotted as opposed to just slotted? Is there an option for just slotted for more track use?
As illustrated above our rotor are made differently from the rest of others in design and finishes, in fact they are more difficult to machine than conventional drilled or slotted finish. The holes are "oblong" and they will not crack like "round" holes and it has a ditch to collect the brake debris and evacuate them thru those slots to keep the disc surface and wheel clean.

These are "proven" advantages in the past 20+ years are favored by thousands of car enthusiasts on both the look and performance, while a few dedicated track racers may prefer "slotted" only finish at their own discretion but they represent less than 3% of our customer base, so we do not offer other finishes.

Also try to understand a rotor made of cast iron is not very stable dimensionally, ie they are subject to expansion and contraction during heat cycles that can result in warping and/or cracking by nature. Believe it or not how resistant to the ill effect of "heat cycles" is more to the cast iron metallurgy (Composition and microstructure) than the finish itself.

For track applications you should inspect rotors' physical condition before/after each event and have them replaced if a crack is progressing rather than until failed.
