yah, naples said that lotus NA told em that the process has to be done by the dealership, supposedly. And they use a service called ALL STATE that charged me some $1500 for pushing a few pages of paper ; which im sure is split with the dealership.... i got my plates and the title for the car came 3 wks later from CA DMV to me...on the title, it says they collected 4220$; which is half of what i sent them for 'calif registration' and naples says that i'm ok with that ...and that Calif may recover the other half from state of FL for the remaining fee.....; which...who knows.... i don't know if Naples kept that other half$ for their 'profit'....i have no idea...they don't reveal it so....
all i know is that I paid my due and if it becomes an issue, i have paper trail and texting from the dealership with their replies assuring i'm ok....
i always do the registrfation etc myself in Calif for cars i buy from out of state...this is the 1st time that i was not able to/allowe to.... very annoying and was costly vs doing it myself.... smh....
let us know what your experiences are re: this subject...
thanks all,
