Second deposit paid.....

Lotus are also suggesting you'll be able to pick up your car from the factory rather than a dealer.
I really like that idea. It would somehow feel more special picking it up from Lotus themselves. It is a long way back up to Scotland, but at least the car would be half run in by the time I got home :)

I'd be very interested in this, my cousin lives about 5 mins away from the factory (on a road named after a Lotus!) so would be handy to catch up with family before a very long drive home.

I asked about that before the dealer roadshows started and was told it was being considered.

Early deposit holders for the Evora Launch Edition were invited to Hethel to meet some of the project team and see production preparations.

That would be great as I was going to pay the £840 + VAT extra for the factory and museum tour etc and collection service

That sounds good as I have no local dealer , you seem very well informed so hopefully this happens.

There was a very broad mention of that when I went to Hethel, I think it is a great idea. I also asked about driving experiences and training and Matt said watch this space for later next year as that was under consideration. I remember when I bought the S2 Elise back in 2001 we did track days and driver training with lotus at Hethel and other tracks such as Knockhill and Le Manns and it was brilliant, it certainly taught me that the car was far more capable than me!! :)

The Lotus Driving Academy has re-opened post Covid and their courses are excellent. A chance to drive a factory Elise/Exige/Evora around the test track with an instructor:

Some of the dealers organise their own customer track days - some with your own car and some with the option to borrow/hire a dealer car. I know B&C do them at Goodwood.

There is a Lotus-only track day operator, Lotus On Track, who are separate from the company and organise a lot of events at UK and European circuits. Well run with instruction available, and good etiquette and driving standards:

Yup know all those, but it was good to here that Lotus will probably do an Emira specific training which I'll definitly go on as a step up from 120Hp to 400Hp is a big one!! Still the light weight Elise will still 'ave it in the corners!!! ;)
