Hi there,

About to take my car in for its second service and the dealer (Bristol) is quoting me £780 plus VAT.

The Lotus website indicates it should be £680 including VAT. https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/aftersales/fixed-price-service - now I now that the website isn't exactly kept up to date so was wondering what others have paid for their second services.

Cheers

I'd bought the 3 year service plan but my second service last week was quoted by Endeavor Colchester as £680 including VAT.

Contact Lotus HQ and ask them.
Mention the dealership who quoted the £780 and see what happens
HQ are telling me that as I bought the car second had the price isn't honoured and only applies to cars that were purchased directly, which makes zero sense as the website doesn't indicate that and don't really see what the difference would be.

The person wasn't very helpful when I explained there is nothing to explain why that would be the case.

The dealer is telling me that the extra cost is to check and clean ABS sensors based on a request from Lotus HQ.

I've rang a different dealership and am waiting for them to get back to me.

I've been told that 2nd/2 year B service is £726.02. Strange amount. First service was £420.79 at the same place.

Mines in Endeavour Colchester having……well….pretty much everything done. They have removed the whole interior, including seats, carpet and dashboard, the front bonnet and clam, the engine, gearbox and clutch, the front loom and fuse box and both doors. So if nothing creaks when I eventually get it back, then I’d be fairly confident in recommending them!

I hope it all goes well.

Holy hell !!! What was it they decided that needed fixing? "Everything" is not the answer :)

Can you not decline additional services at your service centers? I can understand if they won't touch and/or release a car that is not road worthy - such as tires that are corded - but I imagine you could request to simply have your oil and oil filter changed.

😂
Water in the HeVAC controls, water in the fuse box, water in the front loom, bubbled paint on both doors, failed battery, failed clutch thrust bearing, damaged clutch plates, damaged clutch pressure plate and an update of the software. I don’t think I’ve missed anything but…..all with 430 miles on the clock.

If they're replacing the front loom, you might want to ask if they could route an additional grounding cable to connect all the grounding points of the loom with the negative terminal of the battery. No guarantee that it will prevent future electrical issues, but if the car is in pieces now, why not...

Damn mate, really sorry to hear that. Hope it all works out and you get it back soon. Also hope it doesnt put you off the car and you get to keep it and enjoy it

My plan is to keep it. I’m not sure there’ll be another new car like the Emira with all the regulations etc. not to mention of course that most of it will be brand new, when I get it back!

I’m hoping that Endeavour screw everything back together OK and it doesn’t squeak and rattle (it didn’t during the few miles I actually drove it. I will say that Endeavour have not been the fastest in getting it sorted. They had the car delivered to them by the AA on the 18th December. They’re only starting to put it back together this week.
