I’ll be away from my Emira for 3 weeks…Should I disconnect the battery? (Trickle charger is not an option). Thoughts?

If your car is new… 3weeks would be in the max limit for your battery. I have been nearly 3 week and so far… no problems. Nowadays after +one year…. I know for sure that leaving the car 3 wk, means problems.

Every time I leave it parked for more than two days I use a trickle charger. Now I'm leaving for 3 weeks as you are, and the car is attached to the charger already. Sport cars as someone said, always need a trickle charger if not used. A friend of mine has a Lambo SVJ and it's always attached otherwise it won't start if left unused for a week!

Follow-Up:
After 30 days with no trickle charger connected, the car immediately started up with no issues or codes. This was with the battery connected too. (As a reminder, I parked the car in a storage unit - not my garage - so I had no access to electricity for the trickle charger).

good to know all went well!

I am not able to fit a trickle charger at the moment and have to keep a close eye on the charge levels which you can do in the Lotus App. I was nervous about the battery state but it is fine for 4 weeks in winter and 6 weeks in the summer (I live in Scotland). I havent driven the car for 4 weeks and I can see the car has 12.7 volts so plenty of charge. I think the lowest I have seen is 12.3 volts. I set the alarm on the app for a low battery warning but it hasn't gone off so far (if it works). Hope that helps.
I have the app but I can't work out how to set a battery voltage alert - any help would be much appreciated. I have had two no start occurrences and would prefer to charge the battery on receiving an alert than go through the rigmarole of unlocking doors and releasing the boot lid!

Wanted to add something here, I was away for 4 days, came back started the car, pulled it out of the garage, parked outside and turned off to go inside again to grab something. When I came came back and try to start again, it wouldn't start. So, I'm unsure how long you can keep the car parked without tender, but, if you are starting up the car after a few days of not running, I would definitely not turn it off immediately, starter will most likely be pulling all the juice left to turn the engine over.

Slight thread drift. The comments about battery level monitoring. I also have the Lotus/Scorpion app and it monitors battery level. Mine sits at around 12.4v, is that low? I though they were supposed to be higher than this, especially after a long drive.

Go to settings, then Alerts, then click the "+" symbol bottom right of the screen.
Alert Type should be defaulted to "Contextual Speed" touch that and change to "Vehicle Battery Low". The rest is relatively intuitive.
