Sad to see you go. It was a pleasure to follow your mods and upgrades and was looking forward to see more. Unfortunately for us but hope you will find a good replacement car soon. Im on the edge myself too for performance reasons and my final hope is a +460 tune with a new tuner company as the 440 from a known vendor did not work out for me. Good luck and all the best
I have put a deposit on a Mercedes AMG GTC. Not quite the same but it should be very reliable. Its a 4.0 V8 with 560hp, DCT, CCBs, rear wheel steering, dry sump and virtually all available options. I know I will miss the Emira but I think to get it to what I want will be expensive and easier to just buy something close to my wish list.
I nearly bought a 911 turbo S but decided to get my first V8 before they have all gone.

Finally everything is sorted on the car and it is running correctly but I have decided to say good bye to it. It is a really hard decision but I don't think after 12 months of ownership I can say that Lotus is not the brand for me. Yes it is the best looking car I have ever had, yes it's a great drive but I have found going away from mainstream cars like Audi is way more stressful.

This is a great forum and I will be popping back to read your posts and hope you have gook luck with your cars.

Next week I will be removing the following items which I will be selling:

Gloss black Aerie V2 wheels with cup 2 tyres (300 miles)

Nitron fast road shocks (1500 miles)

Miltek full exhaust with cat bypass and remote (1500 miles)
Oh man... yours is such a beautiful build! It's a shame all the issues ruined the experience for you. I guess I got lucky; mine hasn't had any issues at all. I was really looking forward to seeing the development of your car, but if it isn't right for you, it isn't right.

Though it's the most complete Lotus they've ever built, it still feels like a specialty car. I've tried to figure out why it feels that way, and I think it's the rigidity of the car body/chassis. Whenever I get in my Alfa and drive it, it feels more like a real car, a traditionally manufactured car. There's a slight amount of body flex when cornering. I guess it's more of a softer effect overall. The Emira body doesn't flex at all. It's that subtle lack of compliance that makes it feel different I think. I've never driven a car that feels like this. Even my old Lotus Europa Twincam wasn't like this. It's not a complaint, just an observation. The Alfa I can just drive, while the Emira demands my constant attention. Again, not a complaint, just an observation. It's a different type of car, even for a sports car. After 8 months of ownership, I can say it would be difficult for me to have it as a daily driver. Maybe it's my age. If I was younger, I probably wouldn't have any problem with that at all. My Alfa has been, and is a perfect daily driver. All that being said however, I'm glad I'm fortunate enough to have both.
