Hi

V6 manual 2023 - regular Amber check engine light coming on - sometimes I can clear it, but not even sure how I’m doing it - hold the start button for 10 secs, unlock, lock car a couple of times. Eventually I can normally get it to clear.
No other symptoms. Any ideas?
Safe to drive while awaiting Lotus diagnostics?

Also sometime just won’t start - again, try the above and normally it will eventually clear itself…..

The "just wont start" issue is/was a known one, that Lotus had provided a Software update for. If you are unsure if your car has all the updates, contact a dealer and they should be able to tell you

I spoke to Lotus, I only had updates done about a month ago so they’re all up to date.
But frequently it just won’t start. Till a lock, unlock, hold the start button down etc, eventually it sorts itself.
And now a frequently occurring CE light comes on.

Is there a proper way to reset warning lights/ECU?

Check the battery connections to make sure the terminals are clean (not oxidized) and clamped tight. Inconsistent battery performance can be a possible cause.

Bought an OBD2 reader and seems the CEL is for:
"Lost Communication with Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module,"

Anyone else had this? I can clear it using the OBD2, guess will have to see if it keeps coming back….

Can I ask what symptoms you experience when you say “won’t start”? I’ve been having similar issues the past few days. Mine unlocks but then the start button simply does nothing with the CEL coming on sometimes. Tried pretty much everything at this point.

Yes, I've had the exact same issue several times now. Also clearing it each time with the ODB2 - will ask the dealer to take a look at next service.

Ah ok Geoff….
I suppose at least it looks like nothing wrong with the engine and safe to drive/run, although ABS is a bit of a safety concern if they’re not working, although I would have thought we’d get a specific message if the ABS system u/s….

Yes pretty much exactly that…..
Not even sure how I’m clearing it, just getting out, locking, waiting 30 secs, unlocking seems to fix it most times!

I’ve been trying for about 36 hours now. I must have tried every possible combination of sequences going with key, seatbelt, infotainment, you name it.. at least 100 different attempts now. Charging the battery over night as a final chance before getting towed tomorrow. I’m just “lucky” it’s on my drive

sometimes I hold the start button for about 10 seconds, I heard that can reset the electronics, no idea if that might help, or whether it’s the lock/unlock that does it but I’ve never had it as bad as you where I can’t get the engine running, sometime just takes a minute or 2…..
Hope Lotus can sort for you!
