Thoughts on purchase?

So it’s got 400 miles on it. Still in the run in period.

How many people have they let thrash it around on a test drive?
Even, apparently when someone else has agreed to buy it.

I wouldn’t go anywhere near it at any price.
Interestingly I’ve found about 3 cars that were all dealer demos asking the same price as non dealer demos.

My buddy said the same as you - avoid those cars completely

Wanted to see what the group thinks for this listing.
Haven't seen too many listings in the USA for used under 100k. Had to let my previous allocation in April go as I was not in state for pick up. Previously I had locked in price of the $108k. Came across this 400 mile used one in the exact same spec build at Galpin for 10k less than what I would have paid, although it is a used car still selling at the 98k MSRP.
Clean 1 owner car fax. I guess it was traded in when owner wanted to trade for an Aston Martin after 4 months of ownership.
Thanks!

In the UK you'd pay around $85,000 for that spec right now. Delivery miles autos are going for a few grand less than that. Cheapest on the market is a 2022 manual yellow at $78K.

Just for your general amusement/information.

I drove that exact car on May 14th this year, I checked the vin and the pic of the sticker on the window. When I got done test driving it, they said they sold it to the guy before me. It’s crazy that it’s back for sale. They also wanted $12k in dealer markups, which I didn’t want to do either. Told them to kick rocks. Just waiting for the pricing to go down further next year. Then pull the trigger.
I wonder if someone actually bought this or this was still a demo car. They said it wasn't and was sold to someone, but this comment has me wondering...I don't imagine a carfax would show the car being registered to someone as a personal vehicle if it was truly a demo. Or they would probably sell it as a new car if it was a demo. I ended up getting it anyways and it's been awesome without any major issues except paint needing correction which it is getting now. Also has some scoring on driver right rotor which im taking it to my local lotus for in a. couple of weeks. You notice any issues with it on your test drive?

I doubt it was a demo because when I started dealing with Galpin they only were demoing a Seneca over ice auto and I got a call later when they started demoing a Nimbus over black manual. The Seneca was a euro spec so I assume that's gone back to Lotus now but the nimbus is the one with with the big Galpin sticker on the windshield that's for sale on the site now.

Yes, you are right about that Nimbus one. They did tell me that one is a demo with 400 miles on it or something. Just being paranoid. I need to just enjoy the car. Luckily it doesnt have any major issues at 500 miles. They did only send me 1 key with it though after confirming it had two and the car needs rather impressive 2 stage paint correction. Will have to see how to get a 2nd key.

I didn’t notice any issues. it ran really good. I pushed all the buttons, I looked it all over,
and as far as I was told, it wasn’t a demo car. The demo they had was a nimbus grey they were doing a photoshoot with. And they had that one they said I could take out to see how it drove. The sales manager rode with me and we were discussing the diff options it had. It was in great shape. You could get away with just PPF to hide the swirls, if the swirls aren’t horrendous. I plan on putting on PPF on the entire car if I go with a dark color

Awesome, thanks for getting back to me about that! I'm actually picking it up today from my detailer who did a 2 step correction, PPF, ceramic coating. Said he got everything off of it with the correction. Will see when I pick it up!
Did you end up purchasing yours from Galpin?

No not yet. I’ll probably pick one up early next year. Prices are still going down, and there’s one I’ve been eyeing that’s been on the market for 176 days so far. Only 400miles on it. I’m in no rush to buy one, and some dealers have the markup still on them. Van Nuys wanted a 12k markup on all the cars they had, and another one in Washington had the same markup, I really liked the Washington one, but out the door was 130k. Way too much for that car, I’m waiting until they go into the Mid to low 90s. Nobody is lining up to buy these, just like the evora. I daily drove my Elise for 9 years and maybe saw 10 cars in that span of time. It’s a very niche car. I’m definitely buying one though.
