To stripe or not to stripe?

I have no idea how to do this but the colour is:

The stripes would be matt black like the Exige Cup Racer and I have a black gloss roof.



I would be most impressed if you could do a render.

Later this week my car goes off for its yellow ppf and ceramic coatings. I need to decide before the coatings are done if I want a racing stripe or not. I’ve always admired Lotus cars with but not sure if I would do it myself as a bit like deciding if you want your first tattoo. So please give me your views and ideas to say if I’m making a good edition to the look or ruining it.
Here’s some ideas I’ve seen.

My initial thought are I thought tapering off to a thin point like on a lot of Porsches have wasn’t so good with the wide body.
I’m also thinking if I did it I’d go for a matt black to contrast with the black roof.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks to Type 131 I search the Toro Racing GT4 and found this:

It looks great and I like the slight reduction of width on the stripe. Gold looks great on a black car but I can't see it working on a yellow one. The Toro Racing and 75yrs looks awesome but probably better with the whole livery. Maybe something else could be done as part of the stripe?

Maybe the 75 logo in the stripe. Matt black with yellow letters might look good and is one of the Lotus own designs:

I would like to see what it would look like with Lotus Racing in the stripe instead of Toro Racing, but not sure if I am brave enough for that.

I just ordered the vinyl in dark grey and the 3/4” wide yellow that matched the calipers and logo badge. Easy to install and doesn’t need much in the way of skills

Stripes, easy to add and easy to remove. I added mine after ceramic coating.

I like this look on the Exige. Something similar would look good on the Emira.

Yeh, I have this Club Racer model and the black on blue is a hit with everyone.
I am trying to decide on striping my 1963 (new to me) Series 2 Super 7 race car, that is in natural raw polished aluminum. I just refinished the fiberglass white and I am considering a dark grey lipstick (similar to my Crosslè FF) leading to a single stripe to the back. Input requested. I also have a green Emira on order for April (I hope) and will worry about striping that when it gets here.
