Transmission housing residue?

'24 V6 1,500 miles - While installing my GRP short shift device, I noticed the transmission housing had a lot of white residue or other substance on it. I see no evidence of leaks anywhere and can only venture a guess it may be residue from foam cannon car washes that may drip in? Any ideas?

I’ll let others chime in but pretty sure that’s completely normal. Mine had that in the engine bay the moment it rolled out of the dealership.

I’m actually starting to use the below to fight any corrosion buildup just in case
