UK dealer demo cars - specifications

See thats a fair opinion but I would counter with:
981 Spyder .......... Rarer, more interesting, sounds better, better engine, no roof, better luggage capacity.

718 Cayman GTS ........ The benchmark all round package. I like the fact that it doesn't shout look at me but outperforms everything else

Morgan 3 Wheeler 😅 ....... Ultimate fun weekend car at non silly speeds. Doesn't take up a lot of room. Won't depreciate. Rarer and more interesting talking point than any of the other cars. Sounds ridiculous in a good way

Exige 420 FE...... Im used to reasonably hardcore rides so I could maybe... make it work and have best of all worlds. But this is an unknown for me as is it almost in a class of its own.
Ill be very interested in your opinion of the 3 wheeler, I doubt I'd get one, but even still.
Am probably going to rybrook tomorrow if u want me to ask anything?

I was going to maybe pop in their next Wednesday after the Porsche drives.
To be honest I don't think they will know anything.... But if they have any info on test car specs be good to know and can compare/contrast with Central in Notts

It is indeed weird to any new or even old Lotus person to have this situation with 5% between the two cars... Im not sure it will catch on...ever... you are right, another bad Lotus Idea I think...
🤣 you really are bored. Stop bashing the mighty Yaris or I will be round quick smart for a pillow fight.
I know I'm probably too negative and too vocal on a platform designed specifically for the mark and model I'm being critical of.
But then I'm simply amazed at how Lotus have managed to alienate both their existing customer base and their new one!
It really is quite the achievement, bravo 👏

well, think of it this way, at least they got something right and it was indeed difficult to do ;).

I am assuming that the suspension on my Evora 410 Sport was likely close to the Sport version that will be on the Emira. I felt every lump, bump and leaf that I drove over and this was amplified by the carbon bucket seats. I feel that I have been there and done that with Sports setting, so I think that Tour will be the ideal choice for me. I am kind of wishing there was a 'Tour Soft' option!
Yes, Gav Kershaw said Emira Sports suspension is closest to Evora 410 suspension. Bear in mind the differences between the bucket seats in the Evora and deluxe seats in the Emira will also affect how you perceive the ride. I agree the Evora 410 gives you very direct feedback about the road surface, which I found to be a bit too much on an apparently well-maintained road - it doesn't have the flow of the Touring setup.

I saw that Tom it's a stunning spec and looks like value even against the Emira in my humble opinion
They were around £70-75k last Spring when I was looking for a 12C or S1 Exige. I found a really good S1 Exige well below that price and figured it would be a keeper, whereas the 12C would just have been to scratch that itch for (what I thought was) 12 months until the Emira arrived. The 12Cs have appreciated more in the last year than S1 Exiges - both rare and special cars, so no regrets about the choice I made last year.

Perhaps I should get a 12C now and run it for a year while Lotus sort things out, then go into a Base Edition or make a change on my FE to push it into 2023. Emira test drive (and to some extent 12C availabilities) will influence that decision.

I disagree about what to test drive. Touring will suit the majority of drivers, particularly on the UK's variable quality of roads. In other countries the road surfaces may be better or people might be doing mainly track miles, in which case Sports will be suitable.

If dealers only have one driveable demo car, my advice would be to test drive Touring, unless you have smooth roads or will be using it as a track car. If you enjoy the test drive then don't worry about what "might be" with Sports. It's not the "pinnacle" variant, they're two different options for different use cases and for most people the Touring is what Lotus are recommending.

Of course, Lotus should let you drive both and make a properly-informed decision. But then we wouldn't be able to debate it on here :)
I think I have said this before but we both know how hard the S1 exige is on the road and its way to extreme for the roads where I live. I had to make myself take it to work last week so it got a run. I have taken that car through quite a bit of europe a few times.
The Esprit is long travel gt car suspension which is old tech but far more compliant and knowing both it had to be touring spec hands down. I have an Ohlins expert 7 miles away who does work for lotus and has a well setup evora running ohlins so if its sh!te (of course it wont be) then we can try the Ohlins.

It's not a bad shout.
That 12C looks about as good as it gets for enjoyment and resale as well. Always be an 80k+ car I'd have thought.
I honestly feel like this Lotus Emira proposition is a a bit like having Stockholm syndrome 😅 We get abused and keep going back for more!
None of us owe Lotus anything, especially if the car turns out to be only average.
Yes it's been a bit of a journey but they need us more than we need them.
Plenty more car kidnappers in the sea 😉🤣

Ive had.... I think.... 4 out fo my last five cars sold were british built..
Elise, ariel, defender (2015), westfield, .... you see the flag ;). 5th one being the Yaris, but that was a passing fleating fancy and it was Harry's fault.
If I still had the Yaris, we could have a Yobs day out a Rybrook next week.. haha.
Still have the backdate before u say, wont be easy to sell and not toooo fussed for the moment, although its always nice to have money in the bank :) to waste on other crap / cars. 🚙 🚘 🚗

Rybrook were loving the Yaris 😁
Don't sell the 911 without speaking to me in case I've won the lottery and moving to the Balearics

I've just hit 10k miles and it feels like it's developed another 20bhp 🚀
