US Child Seat?

Has anyone found a good option for a child seat for the car in the US? My nearly 5 year old is looking forward to rides in the car.

My understanding is that the car doesn't have LATCH/ISOFIX points in the passenger seat so you'll need to use the seatbelt through the seat method, but there is the anchor point behind the seat. Know you can switch the passenger airbag off for a rear facing seat, but will be most likely booking for a forward facing child seat.

If not, would anyone mind measuring the seat width and distance between the bolsters so I can try find a good option online - thinking it will need to be a slim fit; oh and find a nice seat protector to go underneath the actual child seat

Hilariously I tried his existing car seat and it fits just fine! The square base fits perfectly in the seat space and lines up with hole in the headrest to feed the anchor point belt from the car seat. There is no LATCH/ISOFIX as expected but there is guidance in the manual on how to install a seat by full extending out the seatbelt first, feeding it through and then slowly releasing it back. I can look up the model if that helps?

My son is so excited at getting to go for drives and enjoyed being picked up from school today.

Thanks for this helpful feedback RTM. Coincidentally, we have the very same child seat and will have, hopefully some day still in my lifetime, the same interior spec as you have. If you don't mind, how exactly do you de-activate the passenger side airbag?

It does it automatically, if it detects weight below 110lbs on the seat - the airbag disables for the passenger side (and is indicated in the overhead console in amber that it is disabled).

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have my Emira yet, but I want to get familiar in advance with its features and operating systems. What you just described is exactly how it works on my 911, although I do have back seats (tiny ones nonetheless) on that one.

Seems like it detects any amount of weight. Trying to figure out how to disable it for a child seat..
