US warranty

All this talk has confused me so I went and reread my extended warranty contract. My contract states my car is covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles from the purchase date of 6/8/24. If it ran concurrent that would mean it would only be 5 years or 50,000 from date of purchase?
That is correct... you are extending it by 5 years... or 44K miles beyond the factory 36K

:ROFLMAO: Now I get the confusion. I thought all dealers sold the same extended warranty, so I went back and reread your post and you said your dealer and the warranty they sold. I would NOT do that deal.

My dealer offered me a ten year (concurrent) warranty up to 100,000 miles but it costs $9,800.

I paid about $6,100 for an extra 5 years so a total of 8 years. 10 years may not be a bad deal?

According to my dealer they are saying that the contract covers after 12 months bumper to bumper because the standard lotus 36 month warranty covers only problems unrelated to wear and because you buy the warranty it expands the lotus warranty I signed the paper work on 12/31 still waiting to read the fine print they said the warranty was through JM&A. I bought the 96 month 60K mile warranty for $7,190.

Does anyone have updated information from Lotus on the extended Factory warranty? I spoke with a salesperson at my dealer yesterday and they are going to provide a 5-year 60,000 mile and 7-year 70,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty quote. Has anyone purchased one of these in the US?

I bought the 8yr, 80,000.. $7500.00 and it's 5 additional years after the 3/36k one ends through Fidelity.

I guess as long as the dealers who have Lotus keep the brand and they are not more than few hours from your location..
I know I am 1 1/2 hours from my dealer and my driving of Emira is more garage queen 1200 miles most a year..
So guess with low mileage I am willing to take more chance without extended warranty ..
But no matter what direction it is a flip of coin of luck either way..

Yea.. I got mine from Lotus of Naples I highly doubt they are getting rid of the brand and I drive A LOT. I got mine in July (but didn't drive it until August as I was out of the country) and I already have 7400 miles on her. I didn't want to deal with the mileage going over and then something bad happens.. Peace of mind for me.

I tend to skip extended warranties. As Tavarish says "I am the warranty"
Seems like every time you go to use them there is a "go ya" moment and something is not covered.
When I had my Evora my local Lotus dealer did not do a good job on simple problems and service was generally pretty poor.
Just became easier to do the maintenance myself and be vigilant on possible problems. !4 years with my Evora and only a few minor problems (mostly fit and finish) with little need for dealer visits.
Used the money saved on warranty and bought a lift and upgraded my tools. I'm far from being a mechanic but with help from knowledgeable forum members and YouTube I get by alright.
I do understand the ability to put your mind at ease when you have an extended warranty, but it may be a false sense of confidence

For the right price, I would buy an extended warranty for the Emira. I bought a Fidelity Platnium warranty on my R8 after the OEM warranty expired last year. It was ~7800 USD in 2024 for 7 additional years with a $250 deductible. Considering a new engine is $60k, well worth the piece of mind. I would be more willing to take the risk though and self-insure the Emira given its toyota motor.

Assuming they still have it when I pick up Galpin does an included extended powertrain warranty covering "ENGINE (Gas/Diesel), TURBO / SUPERCHARGER, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, MANUAL TRANSMISSION, DRIVE AXLE ASSEMBLY(Front & Rear), TRANSFER UNIT, TOWING REIMBURSEMENT, SEALS & GASKETS". I figure between the initial 36 mo and this Ill be set.

does extended Platinium warranty also cover the paint ?
I am unaware of one that covers paint. The Fidelity Platinum Warranty I bought for my R8 is an exclusionary policy, so it covers everything except what is listed. Wear items like tires, rotors, etc. are not covered.
