USA buyers: Anyone else concerned with rising US interest rates?

With how long I've been waiting for this car, I've practically paid it off saving for it.
That is awesome to hear! I'm closer to the beginning of my saving journey but have already saved close to double to what I was planning to. I'm hoping that by the time my emira arrives i've built a really good money saving habit that I can continue

They definitely ask about garaging location. The insurance companies have separate legal entities per state, and they don't insure across state lines for regulatory reasons. Check (anonymously) with your insurer to make sure.
I don’t want to take this thread in a weirder direction than it already is. I’m in TX btw. Vehicle registration is $75 and another $10 for the inspection. New cars get a 2 yr from the dealer. My agent quoted me $1400/yr for the Emira.

Mine will cost 4.15% to Virginia in car sales tax at purchase, plus 4.57% to my county in personal property tax every single year for as long as I own the car. The county's calculation is based on the J.D. Power book value for the car, which on a rare item like a Lotus may hold value a long time.
Wow this a serious local tax!

Hey neighbor. This is why those of us in VA don't typically drive the fancy cars that the guys on the other side of the Potomac drive.

If you think that's bad, you should see what we pay in real estate property tax. I think it will break $12k this year. And I know, there are places where it's far worse. But still, it's a wild level of expense in my opinion.
Thanks to Prop 13, our property tax after 29 years is very low and our home value is very high. Still, our sales tax is very high.
But regarding interest rates for the Emira, I'm hoping that when my car is ready to be paid for, it'll be the first quarter of 2025.
The insurance was estimated by the agent to be $55/month.

What company did you ask if you don’t mind me asking?
