Never thought I would be the one to start a thread in the Problems and Issues forum... Today, both of my visors failed. They will not stay up in the upmost position (either this way or that way) and result in reduced visibility. Has anyone else had this issue, and how was it fixed?

I have called it in to my dealer and will have it looked at next week.

Checked mine, seem to be pretty rigid on both sides. Hope the dealership can resolve yours quickly.

Both visor springs malfunctioned at the same time ? That's really odd, or simultaneous bad luck. Did you remove them beforehand for any reason ? Mine seem to spring up and stay firmly in place and coincidentally, I did remove mine some time ago to hide the fugly warning stickers on the outside parts of the Visor (US regulations).

No, never removed them. The timing must be a coincidence, as the springs are inside the visors, not in the roof panel...

I would have ventured to guess that you use the visor quite often and it has to do with basic wear and tear but, generally, the passenger side one is used much less frequently. You do live in the land of the rising sun though.

Ultimately, did the blue pill fix the issue??

Quick update: applying for warranty work, pending approval from Lotus. In the meantime, I have asked for the slacking visors to be removed from the car, as they are a safety hazard.
車外からは分かりませんが、気分的には「眉剃り」みたいな感じかな?

Hope it gets settled soon. Still at the dealership?

Update: no new news

The visors will be replaced under warranty (expected) but will take a few weeks for the parts to arrive (expected), so I have asked the dealer to have them removed until then (expected).
No details released to me on what happened inside the visors and why both failed on the same day (disappointing).
Otherwise, it's a great car!

The ad(visor)y action is to stay calm even during visor-failing❣️ I will try to time mine as I finally get to drive «the damned thing» 😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣🥶🥶🥶

Warranty replacement request approved. It seems interior parts are manufactured on-request to address the risk of stock parts (especially leather parts) getting moldy in the beautiful British climate. I am expecting another month or so until they arrive in Japan.

In the meantime, I have my car with added lightness to enjoy !

I was initially planning to plug the holes with some black plastic shroud, but it wasn't as ugly as anticipated, so I guess I'll leave it as-is.

Still waiting for replacement parts, but in the meantime thought to weigh the OEM visors. I only used a cheap digital scale meant for travel baggage, so the measurements will not be as accurate as some may want.
